more than happy to listen to pros/cons however I already have a very nice 40' gooseneck trailer, and I am good friends with a totoer/motorhome manufacturer. But like i said always interested in someone else's prespective
We have both, a 40' Holiday Rambler Imperial w/350 Cummins w/Banks kit to 450. It is for sale. With a 32' tag it got 6.5 MPG at 75, and pulls great w/plenty of power. The chassis is a Road Master (one of the strongest for towing). When we got the 32' Stacker, to haul 4 dragsters, our fuel use with the Imperial dropped to 4.3!!! So we bought a 32' (40' overall) Toter-style United Specialties built on a Frieghtliner Columbia w/tandem rear axles. It pulls the stacker w/ 9MPG (due to engine, 480 Cummins) since we are only turning 1500 at 70 VS 2200 RPM on the other coach. This seems gear ratio and it is the larger class Cummins to credit. So, with a standard triler no more than 1' extra height, the motorhome is great, but if you are going to pull a stacker, go with a Toter style.
