I just got a phone call...I was told that they spoke with the track and they said the following: only 100 cars will be signed up on friday night and will then be required to take their two time shots that night during test n tune...then another 100 cars will be signed up on saturday and take their time shots the same day during test n tune and finally, the last 100 cars will be signed up on Sunday morning and take their time shots during some kind of Funday Sunday deal...

If someone can confirm this it would be kind of important to know for those travelling...

I can confirm that at 6pm tech will begin. You will fill out tech card, tech your car. If you want to play in the MOROSO T&T Friday and or Saturday that's fine (additional fee). NO PINKS TIME RUNS UNTIL SUNDAY!!!! Tonight and Saturdays tech will only be until 10pm. Whoever can get teched by roughly 10pm will be teched tonight. Tomorrow they will open the gates at 4:30 and will again tech PINKS racers yuntil approximately 10pm. SUNDAY IS THE ONLY DAY for time shots and ELIMINATIONS. This is confirmed by me with the owner and her COO as well as operations. Many of you know me my information is 100% ACURRATE If you NEED THE CORRECT info, call me i'm more than happy to confirm or correct any mis-information.

I arrived at 4 Pm Friday from Gainesville. We sat in a field till 1 am and we the last ones Teched. We were car 111 so a lot I assume were told to come back today.
After that we couldn't find a room till 50 miles away, The wife and I both started coming down withe the crud so we just had enough and drove back to Gainesville.

I walked the field of cars and doubt they were going to be able to get a group from 11.5-12.0 which is what we were looking for. I hope I am wrong.

I high percentage of the cars were 9 and 10 sec braket cars. Nice looking cars but way out of my league.

There were some great looking Corvettes that did get through Tech. We were in a Silver Lightning.

The tech guys said they were not giving out any more cards around 10 PM Friday night.

FlaHP, Wow that's a haul for you guy's. Hope you and your wife get better quickly. Everyone was through tech by 11pm tonight. I don't know how many cars they had out there, but it was the top 2 tech guy's working it. We had a few hundred cars out there with us on the track tonight, many 10 second cars. I have no idea what the field will be as that will not be set until dawn tomorrow. My understanding is they started teching the cars at 1pm today. The field is full and I will be there for a few hours tomorrow morning. I won't be there for eliminations so hopefully someone can report in this thread how it all worked out.

RAIN! They are waiting for it to stop and will begin drying the track shortly.

There were some BEAUTIFUL cars out there - some I've never seen before and I'm at the track at least once a month or more for several years now.

Some great wheelies in the test and tune. And that Black supercharged 50 Impala big block with airbags was one of the nicest cars I've ever seen. Well there was also that green 57 Nomad that was out there.... or the 71 Cuda.... was a good night to watch cars last night.

If these awesome rides get on TV it will make for a good show!

I just got back last night. I got there at 2PM on friday & was #80 which became #107 by the time I got my registration slip. I waited till 9 pm to get teched but they were only up to about the 40ish cars so I left & came back the next day. I got teched in about 10 minutes that day but couldn't get out of the parking lot for almost an 1.5 due to large trailers either making left & right turns onto or away from the track entrance. It was a FREAKING MESS the way it was handled, lots of complaints from the racers that were tired of the delays. I spent 7 hours in the lot on friday , & it was cold, & almost 2 hrs on sat. I arrived at the track sunday am at 8:30 and waited for the sky to clear. the track was prepped to the max at that point & I do have to say that saftey was of the most importance. Moroso did a great job in that respect.
I think it was about noon when they started the first races I was able to get my first run in at about 1pm & my 2nd run in at about 6:30pm. Unfortunatly the guy I ran against blew something in his car and left a smoke trail all the way down the track which resulted in about an 1 1/2 hr delay again, they still had about 200 cars to qualify for the second run. At 8:30 Pm a car hit the wall and caused more downtime. The Pinks crew announced that they would call it "Pinks all night" from that time on. I ended up calling it quits since I had to get back to Orlando & be at work at 7AM Monday , I have no regrets in that decision. I felt like a hostage of Moroso with all of the delays. It was supposed to be over at about 5-6pm but that was a dream number in a perfect world.
I did run my best time for the first run & first time on a pro tree. I ran a 11.6 at 116.99mph with a 1.64 60'. The second run was no time slips and Rich Christensen was the start guy with his arms down start. I can say "I raced on Pinks & all I got was a lousy Tee shirt"

I think what that means is that they were looking for cars that grouped the closest to an 11:00 time run avg. That would have been the final 16. So if you ran a very low 11:00 or a very high 10 you would have been in the finals. I would like to know at what time they finished the event, Man it was getting real cold when that sun set.

The time field for cars that were running were from 8:0 to mid 12's. So it was a truly mixed field. I'd say about 75% of the cars were trailored in and it looked like the low 10 sec cars would have been the choice field for the finals. I think Pinks should have been mors specific in the time categories they wanted. I thought they were looking for 10-12 second cars. but SO many cars were in the 9's?? You never knew what you were going up against when you came up to the line.

It sounds like it was a bit of a mess...Pinks neeeds to figure out what they are looking for more specifically...their first "all out" show they did this all run deal...then, in arizona they limited the field to 9 seconds only...neither worked too well but they went back to the all run deal for this event...it makes travelling real tough since no one has any idea if they will get in or not...

A buddy of mine up here has a solid 10.20 car....he figured between fuel for his rig, motels and eats he was looking at about $350...tough to cough up that much with no guarantee of where the index might fall...sounds like he might have been perfect..oh well..

Guys........ My Friend 16 Years Old Won !!!!!!!!!!
Black 69 Camaro Real Street Car 383 W/ Nitrous. I Was There Until 2:45 A.m. He Won The First Race For $ 1000.00, Then Bet That $ 1,000.00 Next Race, Doubled His $ And Then There Was 4 Cars Remaining. The Other 3 Guys Wanted To Do A Split With The Money ( $ 2,5000.00 Each ) Niko Said No. So The 4 Negotiated And Niko Left With $ 4500.00 Cash ,all The Tools And Tool Chest And Of Course The Win !!

The # Was 11.00
I Ran A 10.89 With My Vett And The Second Pass Seamed Stronger. So, I Thought I Had A Chance. But, Since It Was Faster Than The 11.00 I Was Out......... Oh Well
Cheers To My Street Racing Young Friend Niko From Stuart.

Thanks for posting the results...I am a bit surprised that a camaro with a 383 stroker and the juice only went 11.0....too bad you went to fast...lol...sounds like when they air the show it will be ended as a 4 way split with no winner....unless the racers actually ran it out after the split was agreed upon?....
