Fuel Question

I went to a local shop and they had fuel in 5 gal cans. It cost more than the local drag strips. Is there a difference?

100 octane (I think it is GT100) is $7/gal at the track out of the pump.
GT100 is $43/5 gal = $8.60/gal at the store.

100LL at your local airport is 100 octane Low Lead cost 3.75-4.00 per gallon.

think thats bad, methanol is like 13-15 bucks to fill a 5 gallon can at the track and 45 at the speedshop retail, thank god I'm good friends with the owners with a prostock tube car, and he just cuts me 5 gallons a pop at track price

Last year at MIR I think GT100 was $5.50-$5.95, didn't Royce say there would be fuel available?

Yes, fuel will be available for the rental. Nitrous will not.

I was just wondering if the store bought fuel is any different than the pumps at the track.

How old is the fuel at the store?

OK OK,.....We will do this one more time,.... have you ever gone scuba diving or better yet did you get certified??? remember the part on atmospheres??? How simple BUT unyielding that science was? well the same goes for fuel!!! do NOT run Av-gas (aviation fuel) in your car unless you live about 15 thousand feet high! its blended very different and I do not know if there have been much in the way of Improvements, but, back in the day that stuff caused a few,......"Issues" with the top ends of a few moters, and besides If you like going to the track SUPPORT your local track I mean common,........for the difference we are talking about your track will really appreciate your business!
