Default Automatic Trans Fluid

Any recommendation for automatic trans fluid for a stock LS-1? The car is a stock 98 Camaro SS and is my daughters every day driver, she will race in the high school championship series! The car runs 13.3's at 104.50 MPH, but does not seem to shift as firm after the trans warms up. Thanks

Default Dexron

Paul,

The car only has 8,000 original miles and has never been changed! I am leaning toward a trans flush and going to synthetic fluid and adding a cooler. What do you think? Thanks

I had a 2-3 shift problem,A transmission guy from LS1 tech told me take out the synthetic fluid and put in DexIII. When your racing Put the shift lever in 3rd when you start and when it shifts to 2nd put the shift lever in OD.I tried that and no more 2-3 shift problem.Try that and see what happens and maybe you can get someone to tune the shift points. If that does not work,You might have other problems........Paul

Lotsa' $ for synthetic, maybe worth it for a long term streeter, but for a racecar anything red & namebrand.

Going to MIR or Capitol soon? Greenie still has no engine so the '66 is in,
Dave

Default Needs to warm up

Dave,

Needs to warm up. John had a MIR track rental scheduled for today, but re-scheduled due to the cold weather.

I am trying to get my daughter's car dialed in for the High School series at Capitol next month. Keep in touch!
