Default Countyline Dragway Corvette Challenge Coordinators

It gives me great pleasure to announce that.....

Joe Gutierrez AND Robert Payton have agreed to be the Corvette Challenge coordinators.

Both are racers and have been with us from early on. They will continue our tradition of safety, family and fun.

As soon as dates, rules, etc are available the above coordinators will make the proper announcements. Please understand this will take a bit of time. We are looking 5 or 6 weeks before we actually compete OFFICIALLY against each other.

Another point that needs clarification: This series in no way shape or form has been brought on to compete with the Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge @ Moroso. This series will be a companion series. Countyline management will have our races on different dates than the current series at Moroso. This is here for us to enjoy 2 different types of racing and the opportunity to compete in 2 different series. Lets see how good you are, make the switch back and forth from 1/8th mile to 1/4 mile racing.

Both Joe and Robert along with the rest of us think......

Corvettes, F-Bodies, and my personal favorite the GTO will make for some real fun running against each other at the new facility.

The new Countyline Challenge Series presented by ????? is shaping up to be a blast right out of the box.

Robert and I are thrilled to join Team "Mancuso"! We are really looking forward to it.

You don't all have to drive the same type of car to have a great time. Looking forward to kicking some F- and Goat booty at Countyline. It's all about the fun and family of racing.

To prove it, here's a video Robert made of him and me having some fun with our old iron (his Bee, my H/O)... and our buddy Lowell with is F body. With some Vettes thrown in for good measure. Including my stolen C5. Man that was a nice looking & sounding car built by Roger at Horsepower Sales! Tell me this doesn't look like a great way to spend a day with great buds.

Good Luck with your new Corvette Challenge effort. I like the idea of having nearby Corvette Challenge series at a 1/4 mile and an 1/8 mile facilities especially when an effort is being made to run non-conflicting schedules. I'm sure you will have much success.
2007 is going to be a banner year for the Corvette Challenges. The Nationals were very well attended especially given a difficult date when weather can be very iffy. Attendance at most all Challenge events is up over last year. FL has gained a third Challenge Series, the Mid-Atlantic has a new Challenge series and the Carolina Challenge has moved into a new home with a great history of hosting very successful events. 2007 is going to be a super year!

The name will be
COUNTYLINE DRAGWAY CHALLENGE SERIES PRESENTED BY?
Sponsor to be announced shortly.
We will run the events on the SECOND weekend of each month so as not to conflict with nearby series.
Also.... This will be a bit different. We are opening the 2007 season to the Vettes, GTO's, and F-Bodies which should make for a real cool twist.

Bob

Default Sunday at Countyline - NOT BAD!!

Hey guys, I'm glad to say that I finally spent a day at our new track this weekend. It was great....no rice burners, no Jr. D's and best of all the track was hooking!! I started slow in the morning with a run of 7.29 @ 100 mph, then on my second and third run I was able to step it up a little to run 7.11 and 7.13 @ 104. It felt great to run on the track I put together....Well, so much for me; I'm very excited about our new challenge. I htink it will be an even greater success than MMP's. For Bob M., Joe and Robert, congratulations on whats to be a great series.

One other thing.....when will the series start?? I was aproached by several corvette guys yesterday asking me this question.....

See Ya (in my rear view)!!

Retrotech went over yesterday and matched his best ever 60 ft's with his Bee. He said it is HOOKING! I saw several wheelies the week before so it's looking good. Been there the last two weeks, not yesterday, and was looking for you Vic. Glad you finally made it out!

Bob sorry I didn't get the call last night, Doug was showing me what 485 RWHP feels like so I couldn't take my hands off the e-brake or door handle to answer the call! Give me a call today if you can. Early mornings are best for me.

Hey there big boss man. Some nice runs there, I was on the phone for one of them at the line. Heard you were hooking me up with some good words to the owners yesterday, Thank You :o

As for the schedule we are hoping the 2nd weekend (don't know if Saturday night or Sunday morning yet) of every month, to begin in June. This is not done yet, They are putting the schedule together for us and know where we need to be. We should know at any moment. Looks like at least 6 maybe 7 dates for the 2007 season.

With Robert and Joe leading us, I expect their fresh ideas and leadership will mean many cars out there having a blast. I believe these guy's are a perfect fit, and will exceed any goals we may set.

Left you a voice mail.
