Final burnout

Mackey has been warning/predicting it for years. I have been resisting for years.
When I go, I think it will be cold turkey at the end of a season. If I cannot give 110%, I don't think I can do any percent.
Is any one among us willing to take it all?
...but understandable, as you have carried the torch for a long time now. One would hope someone else would step up and take over (no...I'm not volunteering, as I don't have the organizational skills and would fail miserably
).
Both subjects are very bad news to me. Hope we can work something out Edgar before it happens.

on runnig the ecs corvette challenge- i Do think its too much work for 1 guy or 2 guys
So i suggest a 5 member council to spread out the work load Iknow we can get 5 guys to step up & work together . Maybe Team Leaders, Edgar could stay on light duty , Delaware Corvette Club guys, Dennis & Bob T. are they staying on?? I'll try To help any way i can. I Would think we could get 5 good guys if we start asking at the next challenge.Just a thought .
What do you think??
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Not for nothing, Edgar, but I OFFERED to help in the Pro 8 before the season started and I never got a straight answer out of you so I didn't commit to every race. I'm not going to force anything on you so I backed off and made alternate plans. You asked me to write an article and I did. Then you asked other people to write for you and they do. What's so hard about asking for help? You need to learn to let go of certain things and begin working in a "supervisory" role. There's a reason why there are reporting hierarchies in corporations; one person can't do everything.
Everyone respects you and appreciates the work you put into this series but you can't just throw your hands up and contemplate quitting when there are viable alternatives.

But seriously, you need more people because this thing is big enough that it needs to be run like a business. We're way beyond hobby, don't you think? You need to hire some middle management. Heck, I'm just a novice and you've got me working nights.

BTW, I forgot to tell you I got the ECSCC, Raceway Park, and my company, all plugged on Philly's WMGK at lunch time on Friday. Debbi Calton read my entire email over the air wishing everyone luck for the race. She said she owned a Corvette for about 1 week. This is something we all can do at different radio stations. Cost- Zip. Exposure- Huge.

Edgar, ask for/get some help. After that, if you still must go, sobeit.
Just know that you'd forever be remembered for all of your hard work & dedication even during your own busy schedule & life!
Ron
I know what you are going through .Even if the people step up and try to help, it just makes it harder to get it all together.
I know when you deligate, their are times when people just want to fight you and it is tiring.
Everyone wants me to step up and take over again but I am tired and
you can never please everyone.
The desissions you make will always be screwnized and attacked.
When you fly with EAGLES toes will get stepped on and that is what happends when people just stand around instead of just following or walking with you.
People always want you to ask them to do something and they don't understand that is the problem. If anyone wants to help they would ask you ,CAN I HELP!!
I don't understand the people that say they can help and they never do anything,I am going through that now at the track. The raise is not the ??$$$ cant fix the things you run into now day's, it is the hours and the repetition of the job.
Do what I did back off and let the others take over for a while .
I guarantee you will still have to guide them, but the burden is less, and the frustration will be high for a while.I would never just drop out!
You will scare most if you say you are not going to do it anymore.
Hang in their and just
for a while.Now have a
and get rested up you know you would miss it
Have a great day

We would be very hard pressed to find someone to do all that you do.. my guess is that its going to take 3-4 of us or more to do it.
We are all going to have to pull it all together here soon and either force you to stay or find a way to try and continue in your legacy!

If you do bow out and take your "final burnout", it better be down to the rims!!

I know for a fact I'll be staying on.

I agree with all about it being a multi person effort...there is no reason for one person to take on all that Edgar does now which is a perfect recipe for continued burn outs...divide up the responsibility...maybe a website person, race day person, sponsor person and an admin type for all the classes....
Let's face it...some folks are just not delegators...they need to take charge to get things done...I see Edgar as this type...he sees a problem and he jumps on it and beats it into submission his ownself...not a shortcoming, rather more like a small business owner style of management...like Edgar said he is either all in or all out...I don't believe delegation is the answer for Redgar the Magnificient...lol
The Corvette Challenge just would not be the same with out our leader but I can understand why you might be finding it necessary to step down at this time. You have made a major contribution to the organization especially in the area of gaining the event a very high degree of notoriety via the national and regional press and media outlets. This effort has brought in a whole new level of event sponsors and event exposure.
