I was going to go to E-town to get some practice in before our next Challenge race. But after reading your post about last Friday at Island I'm thinking about heading up there. Do you think I'll be able to get 10 to 12 runs in this Friday? I know at E-town I'll only get 3 runs.
Doug, I went 2 weeks ago on a friday and got there about 7:30 and let the car cool down for 45 min and still got 6 passes, but on friday nights they run a pro tree test & tune

Hows the track prep there? Went one friday a couple months ago and could not get traction until the top of third. Never went back so I don't know if it was just a bad night there or if thats the norm on a Friday.
I have a slow car and didn't have any problems this past Friday. There were a coulple of 11 sec. cars there and they seemed to hook and drive straight with out any problems.
I was there last week, but not the 6th, we would have seen each other. Are you going tomorrow? I have a gas leak but I might get it fixed in time. I need a new filter.
Someone asked about track prep...well lets just say it sucks unless you run slicks and they let you in the groove. Too many front wheel drive imports dragging water into the lanes.
Lets plan a trip to Beaver Springs too, that place is fun...
You were there last Friday? I didn't see you. I was there with my Son, I got in 18 runs. It was his first time at a drag strip. He was in the Camaro that looked like it was going to fall apart. I was practicing a couple of different launch techniques in preparation for the Corvette Challenge.
I won't be going this Friday, too much stuff to do around the house.
You know I'll be there the next time you plan a day at Beaver Springs.
I have a challenge lined up for me this Friday (27th) will you be there? I'm racing a Mustang that trapped 131 last week....I need a good 60' to have a chance...
Not this Friday, but I think I'll be going up next Friday.
Good luck with your challenge race. Get it done early before the track goes away. The last couple of times I've been there with all the street tires there the track prep didn't last long. Then the guys at the line block off a portion at the line to move you over so one could get better grip, I guess. The first time it happened I did my burn-out, released my line lock, and looked up as I was driving out of the box and there was a big freaking cone dead center right in front of me!
It's all fun though. Kill that Rustang!

I don't know what it is about Friday nights up there, but most guys can't get out of the hole to save thier lives. Out of 36 runs up there I only lost on the tree once, and I ain't that good!
If Dave is good on the tree he might have a chance.
HIGH 10s? 131 is good for mid to low 10s. I trapped about 135 running 10.00.
He trapped 131 but I call it a fluke! Anyway, his ET was 11.09. I can beat that. Unfortunately it wont be this week, I just found coolant in my oil
I guess I'm changing a head gasket or two this weekend

Be careful. If he trapped 131 and ran 11.09 that may mean he spun badly out of the hole. A car making enough hp to trap over 130 in the 1/4 mile has enough to run at least mid-10.
