Bought this over a year ago and only used a few times to test it out. Been sitting in it's box in the garage. More into road courses than the straight line is what I have found out.
Features:
Horsepower
Torque
60 Ft. Time
1/8th & 1/4 mile
0-60 & 0-100-0mph
RPM & Shiftlights
Handling Gs
Record up to 30 runs
3 precision sensors
This device can help a serious driver learn many small thing about his techniques.
What was the actual launch rpm?
Did the motor bog? If so, how much?
What was each of the actual shift points?
How fast are my shifts really? Any difference between 1-2 and 2-3
In which track split is each shift made?
Did the driver capture rotational inertia from the flywheel on launch and the shifts?
In aggregate, the GTech can help a driver improve by learning to eliminate small element of wastage in techniques.
The GTech is very accurate if the owner takes the time to calibrate it properly. I run one at the drag strip and find it correlates to my slips/splits within a few hundredths of a second and a few tenths of mph.
Where the learning is done is in downloading the GTech files to the computer and studying the data. Not everyone has the inclination to do that; but those who do can become better drivers.
I'd suggest posting this on the Z06 board; and in your post you might want to quote my comments from Post#6. Plenty of drivers there still trying to improve.
