I noticed in video of my car doing burnout befor stagging that my tire creates no smoke. I back into water box, stop, pull out a few feet then do my brake torque for 5 sec or so. No smoke! All these other cars are making clouds of smoke. My tires are Nitto drag radials 315s and I run 20psi in them. Should they be making smoke?
I think you should be making at least a "little" smoke.. however Nitto tires need a lot more burn out than BFG to get smoke..
Point 2.... How many runs have you made on them and have you had ANY traction problems... reason I ask is.. IF you NEVER spun and hooked EVERY time why change now .. I always say "If it ain't Broke Don't Fix it!"
If your hooking up with no problems don't change anything.. however if your spinning or your 60' times vary a lot.. then spin em until you see smoke!
Nitto's don't need much burn time.I take them to 16 lbs and just spinn them .When they get old you have to burn them like crazy. If you burn them toooo long they get greasy and spin at the line.
If they are pulling you foward on the burn out then don't change what you are doing.I run mine down to 10.70 at 128 mph with no problem .I have only done that a couple of times to see what they will do.Remember those tires are only y rated not zzzzz rated and won't handle the speed.
I burn them at 5k and no more.
I can only sit there for 5 sec or so befor my brakes give, car shoots forward. Either to much throttle or stock brakes are to weak. Id like to sit there for 10 sec if I ould and really roast them. My Nittos are always on my car not just at the track and I have 12000 on them. Still thred left on them.
Yes. A line lock, really called a roll control device is a device you attach to yor brake system. It gives you the ability to lock your front brakes only instead of all four. That leaves your rear wheels free to roll and do the burnout. When you are done with the burnout, you realse the front brakes and all is normal again.
If you are interented in getting one, there are two manufacturers. Hursts and I foget the other but we can get you the info.
Somone can chime in here and give the ohter name.
You can get them from jegs, summit and other sources too.

My 93 had no problem roasting the siht out my ET Streets. I would spin them through the waterbox, then stop, and play with the brakes and throttle to get them where I wanted. Brakes should be sufficent on your car, you may just need more practice.
Like Edgar said, there's Hurst which many people run, TCI makes one and so does Biondo. Do a search in C4 Tech and you will get varying opinions on all of them.

Sounds like you're not giving enough gas +/or not doing the burnout long enough....Keep the revs "up there". You may want to try it in a different gear. Maybe it's shifting on you. Ask the C4 guys which gear they use. Likely it's 2nd gear, but I'm not sure.
2nd gear...give it more gas. You can also adjust your mirrors to watch the tires as you do the burn out. By doing this you can also make sure both wheels are spinning.
