Whats the best or worst combo for running consistent ET's with a C5

Best Combo?
NA Motor, glide trans shifting from tach or air shifter, trans brake launching off tach, solid axle, big slicks?

Worst power adders? What do you think?
1. Nos (bottle temp & pressure varies too much)?
2. Turbo ( don't spool up consistently)?
3. Supercharger (fairly consistent since boost is lintier)?

Worst drivetrane?
4L60e ( dosn't shift at the at the same rpm consistently)?
4L80E (unknown)

What are your thoughts on a consistent setup?

My race car is a 327 NA (530 HP) with a powerglide, air shifter, trans brake, 12 bolt rear with 5.83s. NHRA/IHRA Super Stock. It's consistent.

The more you add to the setup, the less consistent you will be. Gears, power adders, human element (launch/shifts, etc). Keep it simple.

For consistency I'd like a N/A motor, 9" solid axle, slicks and skinnies and a glide, a big stall converter and tall gears...oh wait, that's my next car...

I agree that power adders are for heads up, not consistency...drivetrain needs to be as simple as possible...2 speed powerglide does that...

Oh this is my car, but i have a Gear Vendors on the end of my powerglide (so its a 3speed).You forgot the radio, A/C. It gets hot in the pits.
As far as power adders i use NOS ,and i dont have a bottle heater,i dont use a torch & my bottle pressure stays the same 1050psi the hole 9 seconds, I got NANO.

I will switch to a big thumper ,but i'll let you guys be the test rats & and save some coin, to do it right the 1st time.

What works for me.......
NA with lots-o-torque
Rossler 4l60E off the foot brake in "D"
ECS driveshaft conversion.....no rubber no more
MT bias or radials.......
and most important.........a GOOD TUNER!
