I don't think that running high 8's - 9's is not all that fast.. Nothing like running 300+ mph in the 1/4 mile.. I'm not worried about my safety.. I have all required equipment..

if you don't think thats fast then you have no respect for the vehicle you race, and have NO BUSINESS on any dragstrip, anywhere

I know that things can happen but things can happen on the street to where you don't have any safety equipment like at the track. Life is dangerous. Like I said before, I rather spend my money on going fast rather than overkill on safety equipment..

I think we all get the message about every penny will be used to make your car faster. You can only go so far with spending. But - You know that.

Good Luck I am done and moving on. I am tired of all the post's like this!!!

The one that changed the helmet rules for 9.99 & quicker with no warning for 2008!

Yep, and diaper rules that still aren't clear even to the track owners,

sure glad I bought TWO openface SA2005 helmets last year that aren't good for a 9 second pass anymore!

I wore safety shoes in my car. They give you more pedal feel, work great in a small foot well, PLUS THEY LOOK COOL

That ain't nothin man.
I hear that there is a light weight paper mache version with a SFI sticker out there for $10.00 shipped. I'm going to order me 2 just in case sweat makes it dissolve. Why spend real money on a helmet? I have a car with my hard top duct taped in place and insurance.

Names are picked for prizes. To get a license - you need to qualify deep into the 9's. They frown on 9.99 time slips.

You can also call the office for a list.
Thanks for the heads-up. Just joined NHRA. BTW...its now $ 64.00 a year.
