I went to have my drag wheels (bias) balanced. The front wheels needed very little weight to balance them. The back wheels they had to put a double row of weights on in one place.
They asked why I wanted the Mickey Thompson ET Streets balanced on the rear. Is it common not to balance a rear tire like an ET Street (BIAS)...
My concern is from the location of the weights I think it is possible they(weights) may conflict with my A-arm suspension and may have to take a couple off...
Thanks I really know nothing about drag wheel setups except for what they cost...
Thanks for the info. I ended up pulling all the weights off the rears. They were in conflict with the suspension ball joint area. I had no vibrations but never went over 100 at the track...
I still had some traction issues. My first pass I went at 18 lbs and it was ugly no track prep. Second pass went down to 12 lbs and it hooked pretty good off the line and broke free shortly after. 2nd gear I had a nice view of the wall. Just curious to see how low PSI everyone is going with these tires... I had 35 in the front skinnies..

Trap speed makes quite a bit of difference. I was going faster before the 1/8 mile than you after the 1/4. So, to you weights may not matter as much but in my case it made a significant difference. I ran my car with an unbalaced set of tires one day and I definitely could feel it at the top end.
I ran my ET Streets at 9 lbs. You need to experiment a little. Start high (like 12-15 lbs) and decrease pressure by 1/2 lb every run. See what works best for you. You'll know what the optimal pressure is when you start twisting half-shafts I think your fronts are fine +/- 5 lbs. Keep in mind that lower tire pressure doesn't always translate into a better hook up.
I gotta do some research on the tires and what is needed to heat cycle them properly for optimum grip. Last nite was the first night for the new tires and things didn`t go to well... I see people going well into the 9`s with them so its obvious its not the tire.
