Last weekend I met some buddies at the 1/8th mile track to have a little gear banging fun.
Ran a 6.48 (slippery first run) a 6.44, a 6.42, a 6.41 and a 6.39. All runs were in the 110.5-111.5+ mph range. Pretty much on par for usual..it has run some low 6.30's before at 113 mph in really nice weather. This will usually get me 9.90's@141+ mph. Since it only has 3.07 gears it seems to pull a lot better on the back half of a 1/4 mile than it does on the front part.
Some other videos people showed me that night had some cool air under the front tires on the 1-2 shifts!
This time I had my normal heavy Cragar street wheels and tires on it instead of the skinny lightweight stuff I usually run at the track. Might have been a little more in it.
All runs on pure 93 octane. I tried bumping timing a little more on one run, but it lost MPH. I guess that was all the pump gas and hot street plugs could handle.
Sorry guys..the link is acting up. It was posted on another site by the buddies who took it...I guess our new folks here don't like seeing the other sites name in the link. It won't let me put it back in...I'll try to find another way to host it. Jeez.......it's just a video of a Vette racing that some Chevelle guys liked!
Seems like it's working now..give it a try.
Thanks,
JIM
