I need to build wheelie bars for my car this year, my question is, how long, one wheel or two? car is a c-4 drag car, real c-4 not a tube car, 4 link 9 inch, 28x11.00 et slicks 2700 lbs. It went 1.24 60ft last year with the front wheels 2ft in the air!! Any help would be great, I plan on running some LOW 8s this season just need to keep the frontend down
Sorry guys I built this car in my shop, the car is back on the table for a anti-roll bar upgrade, seems like a good time to add some bars, thought someone here could give me an idea on length.
The usual for the wheels are usually 1 to 2 inch off the ground .If I am setting them I set the wheels at 1 1/2 on each side just before the car stages. You just set them up with a quick turn buckle that is only good for one run and then you have to set them on the next run,you can also estimate and keep them at the same hight all the time .I think it is more of a drivers call rather than the tuners. If you use 2 wheels it is harder to set up.On a vett it likes to pull to the left so i set the drivers side as low as 1 inch from the ground but it will slam down hard and you can lose control.
HI, I just use the Competition Engineering p/n C2016. I set the height of the wheels by how far up I wanted the frontend to raise. But be careful, too low of a wheel setting will unload the tires.
