Greg Eaton has gone 8.58 @ 161.17. Recently, he has improved his best naturally aspirated ET by a tenth or so and with some additional changes that he is doing, he is hoping for 8.40's or better...
Red79Vette454 has gone 8.88 but has switched to solid axle since..
I haven't sprayed the full shot of nitrous yet but I should be in the 8.9x range with the full shot and good air. I'm thinking in going with 18 degree heads and a bigger shot next year which should get me into the mid 8's...

Do you know the info about Greg Eaton? I tried a Google search but can't find anything. I'm curious to know if his car is truly a street car like mine or more a potato chip that has been been stripped and lightned. I weigh 3550#.

Ever get that engine noise figured out yet? I'd hold off on the spray till you do (unless you want to drive over the crank)
Mark, I think you would be in the top 10 easy, is your car registered and insured as a true street car? I know some that claim to be street cars, but are not registered/insured for street duty, Great numbers though, Congrats.

ps, Glen I missed my guess
The car was registered until this year when I decided to turn in the plate. It still has the collector insurance on it. Only the slicks make it illegal for the street at this point. Although I would need to put the front sway bar back in if it was to spend any amount of time on the road.

He runs a 427 SBC with 23 degree Dart 220 heads, making well over 700 HP naturally aspirated.. I believe that he is running a 400 HP fogger but I'm not sure if it's a 400 HP shot or less.. He posts here and has posted details of his setup.. Here's one of his posts.. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...2&postcount=42
Do a search on his posts.. He has posted more details on his setup before..

I didn't have any time to work on the race car.. I'm busy with tons of stuff and I haven't even had a chance to pull the pan and check the bearings... I hope to have a chance to work on the car some time in September..

Would your car run on unleaded fuel? It's theoretically illegal to drive a car with leaded fuel on the street (even though I MIGHT have done that before )..
Mine is street legal too but with the 5 gallon fuel cell, I wouldn't get too far and the car is running on 112 leaded (or higher if I spray the car)...

My hat is off to you, running those kind of numbers with a car that is still streetable and the weight.

Sweet car, what is the basic engine and tranny combo ??

Original 4 bolt 454 block from 1970 now a 511 ci with Callies crank, Oliver rods, Diamond pistons, Brodix Race Rite heads (major work), T&D shaft rockers, custom Comp Cam, lifters and springs, Comp Cams timing belt, MSD crank trigger. Reher-Morrison did the custom intake with Edelbrock Pro fogger, Holley 1050, etc. It's a bullet proof piece built to my specs by PK Machine in Fitchburg, MA.
TH 400 with reverse manual valve body and trans brake built for me by H&H Transmission of Wallingford CT. Converter is from Transmission Specialities and is their 10 1/2 inch Cadillac with a 5000 stall.
Yo Ollie.....I guess I missed it...what happened to the motor?

I don't know if anything happened.. At the National Corvette Challenge, I heared some knocking from the engine but it went away..
Now, I don't have any noise but my oil pressure is not as steady as I'd like it to be. .However, my idle is rough and the slightly bouncing oil pressure could be a result of that.. In a few weeks, I'll pull the pan and check the bearings just to make sure..

My car has a spool and 13:1 CR so i would not consider it a "street" car, although the headlights not only work they open & close on their own when the lights are turned on. The parking lights work, brake lights work, reverse lights work, turn signals work, etc. The car has full interier, electric windows, Auto Meter gauges are mounted in the original cluster (tach, temp, oil, vacuum) and the shifter is mounted in the original location using the original shifter plate (looks like it was installed from the factor).
The car runs 8.50's with a SB, single fogger and on 29.5 X 9 ET slicks.
