For all you bracket racers or 1/4 junkies who have their cars dialed in, what gains have you seen with a CCW drag pack? Is the weight savings and less rolling friction up front worth any mph? I'm trying to compare the CCW's to stock Z06 wheels that are already lightweight.
I recently purchased a CCW radial drag pak. I am using Hoosiers in the rear. I previoulsly had stock Z06 wheels with BFG drag radials. The total weight savings was 10lbs at each corner for a total of 40lbs. The Hoosiers hook real well but so did my BFG's. As far as ET gains it is kinda of hard for me to say since I don't have a lot of data. However my guess is the gains are very minimal. That is I think the gains would be in just the 40 lbs. Some people say that 40lbs in rolling weight is equal to 3 times that of non rolling weight. But I don't see a ET increase of 120lbs. So to make a long story short I think I am only seeing a gain of about 0.04 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

I tend to agree with Dave.
Different cars will react differently to a drag pack also depending on HP, stick vs auto, overall setup. The weight savings will help for sure but I I agree with dave on the amount.
Skinnies allow you to run the car all out and not have to worry about being all over the track on the big end.

it was hard to keep the car straight, now its has no drift side to side
The drag pack certainly helps but it's not the 4/10ths plus reduction all by itself that some people claim unless one is starting with huge, heavy 22" blingy rims with 400+ treadwear tires on them LOL.
Also keep in mind that there are variations on what actually constitutes a 'drag pack' as well, some have radial tires and some have bias ply tires and some have a combination of both.
Radial based versions often weigh more than bias ply versions.
I bought robz's old drag pack with Bias Ply MT on the back. I picked up maybe a 0.05-0.1 drop in my 60ft times, but other than that not much of a difference coming from a 275/40/17 drag radial.
