I have a 78' C3 and have drag raced it quite a bit with a fairly radical 350 and drag radials, but now I've stepped the motor up quite a bit and am trying to upgrade my rear suspension to last. I've gotten some good advice on going with a much heavier rear spring, Qa1 adjustable shocks turned up, rod end camber rods with lowered mounting bracket, and solid spicers u-joints throughout. This stuff is now on order.
Now, I currently have an Auburn 4 series posi with 4.56 gears and I need to change to a 3 series with 3.70's or so for the MPH I should be running. I was told that ordering a new Eaton unit wouldn't be very strong. What do you guys that are racing with IRS using? Is everyone using a Tom's unit? Is there anything aftermarket that can be put in this thing that will last for a decent amount of time?
I really would appreciate everyone's input.
