Default looking for 13's

basicly i want to make my corvette faster then my friends 98 ls1 camaro his car went 13.7 at the track and id like to beat him a few times

ive got a 84 with 150,000 miles on it no smoke dosent burn oil so im gonna stick with the current motor

i have a set of longtube headers for the car and will do a free flowing exhaust

i plan on buying the renegade intake manifold from dynamic crossfire solutions along with their 2.0" throttle bodies as mine need to get the bushings anyway

ill pick up the bigger injectors from them as well

now as for heads/cam i dont want to spend a fortune on the whole deal

would heads/cam get me into the 13's or will i need further mods

i was debating on a stall converter and shiftkit for the 700r4 as well

i would like to avoid doing a shortblock for now

any suggestions or rec

Maybe some NOS boys or girls can offer opinions.

with that many miles it is a waste to me to spend all that $ on heads/cam/intake etc...

a little hit of the giggle gas will be all you need for a fraction of the cost of the parts your looking at.

You are asking a whole lot from a very old platform. I believe the 84's had Crossfire Injection (aka Dogfire Injection). You might want to ask this question in the C-4 performance section, they may be able to give you the info you need.

What does the car run in the 1/4 mile presently?

A 50 shot will put you where you need to go .I would spend the money
on the exaust and even that would make itpretty close where ,you want the time to be.
Don't forget the traction,a good set of DR's would be good and a lot less money.YOu have forged trw pistons in your motor so don't worry about pistons not being able to take the nos.

Hurst Short Shifter will shave off some valuable 100th seconds...you want to shift as fast as possible...however thats not gonna be the difference maker....

like the others on this post have mentioned, a simple 50-100 shot should definetely do the trick (im sure you can find adjustable ones with 50-100 hp)

Or a simpler way is to sell your ride (its got quite a few miles on it)...and buy a used c6 w/ an LS2 motor
