PLEASE HELP!!!! Electric Cutouts or Borla Straight Pipes???
The car;
04 C5 Corvette , Cam, ARH Headers, 2.5" midpipe, converter, Gears, Electric water pump, Underdrive pulley, Vararam. Hp tuners Tuned
Question?
For all out drag strip performance, will a set of cutouts (turndown dumps) after the Xpipe right before the rear end with no rear section pipes make more power and run faster ets or should I use a set of borla straight pipes. My main goal is et performance, sound is not a concern.
What do you guys think or have experience with?
Thanks everyone

First you want to be sure cutouts are legal on the nights you want to race. Many tracks have noise restrictions and cutouts are sure ways to get you asked to leave.
Second thing you want to ask is how much street driving you are doing and how much you like noise and drone. Straight pipes on an A4 tend to drone at normal driving speeds.
Performance wise they are likely about the same as the cutout basically eliminates the muffler like the straight pipe does.

I have cutouts on my car. Over stock mufflers, I gained 10 hp. I had Borla strait pipes on my car for a while, but, it was drone all the time. Way too loud for a daily driver.
Here's a short video of what the cutouts look like on the car.

I curently have have corsa's on my car, with my cutouts open, I run 10.5 in the quarter.
