For JPee and a few other guys who sort of know me on here.....
Here is a link to pictures of the new ride. I changed my screen name to post with MY name. It was 730GT500. Anyway, I know everyone here is Vette crazy, so jump through the 50 or so photos in the link album and check out a couple of the Vettes too.
Car ran 7.395 @ 185; with a 1.063 60' on Saturday (yes 1/4 mile for the Mustang haters that will sarcasticly post that 7.39 in the 1/8th is not that fast )
Well, Top Sportsman is restricted to door cars only so that car doesn't see dragsters. But in any case it's a fun ride. Much different than driving a dragster. I have driven many fast dragsters and the ride is not even comparable. It does not hit the tire as hard as a dragster because the suspension absorbs the shock, the steering is slower and less responsive, it carries the wheels about 50', and sith the engine in front and headers just in front of my feet its a lot louder than a dragster or stock bodied door car. And @ 9750 rpm it is an awesome sound.
Can you give us a little info on the motor & drive train? AWESOME 60' that car leaves HARD!! How many ci is it... what are you using for a transmission ?
493 Ford, It's actually one of Bob Panella's Pro Stock engines from about 5 years ago in front of a Powerglide. We are actually running it soft to take it easy on parts this year. I think its best 60' before I started driving it was a 1.01 or 1.02

Very cool concept to pair an ex-Prostock motor with a glide. Now I understand the reference to 9750 RPM! That car must be a blast to drive
