i use coppermine for the photo galleries on my site. however it is the really becoming a pain with all the security leaks it has. they find them and update the software but never tell anyone one. So if you don't go there to look for updates, you don't know they are there and thus are open to the hacks.
However, I have over 7000 photos just on the CC site and that does not count the other sites I have and it is a sold week, which I don't have, to try and recreate all the albums from scratch. We have 92 albums that would need to be recreated or loaded elsewhere
AAARG that just sucks. You do this as a great service to our community and some dirtbag screws with you. I sure don't get these folks who do this for their jollies.
FWIW a lot of people really appreciate the work you do for the Corvette Challenges.
no external links are not the entry point.
pretty sure it has to do with the Coppermine albums. The keep putting out required updates but have NO WAY of notifying existing users. So if I don't check for updates, the holes go uncovered. It is the price I pay for not paying a price for free GNU software that is not tied to advertising. It is good and fast software but I just wish they would notify us when they have an update
I dunno if I would do that...maybe put them on a commercial site instead let them deal with the hackers
Over a year ago TAG lost everything, even backups. The host said the computer fried but you gotta wonder if that's what really happened. I'm not 100% sure but I think there are sites that will do the transfers for you.
