Snell 2000 still accepted at tracks ?

Yes. Acceptable helmets are the Snell 2000 and Snell 2005.

yes, but if you are buying, get a snell SA2005. the 2000 will expire sooner and rumor has it that NHRA/IHRA, etc are going to quit accepting the M (motorcycle) helmets very soon, and rightfully so.

it may be right now, but soon, NO. A motorcycle rated helmet is tested for a single impact against a flat surface (your head hitting a road). They also generally have a nylon interior (it melts). An SA helmet is tested for multiple acute hits (curved surface against curved surface, such as your head hitting a roll bar) and have flame retardant (nomex) interior.

Despite what some people think ( i won't name the moron in question, although many of you know), there is a significant difference in a M helemt and an SA helemt.
