I tried going to PBIR last Friday, I drove in and it started raining!!
I wanted to try my newly acquired 275/40-17 MT ET streets.
One of my freinds sugested we take it to Lakeland 1/8 mile on Sat,
with some coerzing I went.
I was surprized at the traction.
60ft 1.655 60ft 1.622
660 6.96455 660 6.94801
mph 106.73 mph 106.14
I made a few runs, saved the fastest to post another time.

My head still hurts from the helmet hitting the roof :o
They called the track "The House of HOOK"
Hitting a 6.9x in the 1/8th was the only personal goal that I hadn't achieved with my bolt ons C6 in 2009, ended the season with an 'oh so close' best of 7.02
Thanks,
the car shook the tires after shifting to 2nd on one of the passes it loosened something in the exh and started a 7* Kr, dropped my timing to 18*, I figured it was time to leave
I am told that Lakeland will be going to an 'import-ONLY' Saturday evening program in the near future, although we are permitted to test-n-tune our Amurican iron between the popcorn-poppers & weed-whackers on steroids oiling-down the track and clogging the staging lanes with 15 people per rickshaw
Yeah, when I went they mentioned it, but I had never run there, and figured it would be a one time deal. honestly I was surprized at how good the track Hooked, I would go back in a heartbeat!!
I need to run the car in the 1/4, tried Bradenton, they want a roll bar and jacket to run 10.50's
Palm Beach won't be a problem and they have great Hook
Orlando put together a nice facility! Do they VHT the track for TnT??
I've gone to Central Florida a few times, helping fuzzy dice, but I've never been down the new strip myself ~ hopefully, he'll chime-in and offer his thoughts, but I believe his car consistently hooks better there, than at Orlando Speed World in recent weeks:
his big-block Camaro goes 1.66 @ CF, and 1.70 @ OSW, but we think that is because it has been so-cold when he's raced @ Bithlo
Yup...they prep for test n tune but not nearly as well as for events...no different than other tracks...I have never had a problem hooking at CFRC..have had a low as 1.63 shorts and averaged about 1.65- 1.66...this includes during test n tunes on Friday nights...
Be aware that the run out is a bit short...about like Lakeland...no problem but don't be lollygaggin with the binders after the traps...
You will not find a nicer bunch of folks...they treat racers right...

I believe they hold 2 'Gambler Races' on Friday evenings, during the test-n-tune (1 for full-electronics, the other for no-box), with the Track Management throwing-in an additional $100 per Class Winner

You know I like that I wish we had that at pbir I would go to test and tune more often just for the fun of it. The management over there seems to know how to treat their racers.
