Wow...I never realized static electricity could make a fuel jug blow up...I have never grabbed mine by the hose for obvious reasons but I am sure it has rubbed on my pants from time to time...
Today at Atco, I saw two young kids riding a quad with a jug of gas and the fill tube out. I told my buddy I would never have my kids do that. Before this thread, I probably wouldn't have thought anything of it.
OK, I read all of the posts and additional info on the subject. I don't use race fuel out of a fuel can at the track, but on my way home from the track last night I stopped to get gas. It was cool and dry last night and I was thinking about this post and I realized touching a fiberglass Vette was not going to discharge any static electricity that may have built up.
What would I do to discharge any static electricity while fueling my Vette?
