Default mixed emotions

I have mixed emotions now that the last challenge is over. My car went the best it ever has. 9.97 @ 134. Thats foot breaking it. If it was trans braked it would have been a low 9.90 for sure. I've been looking forward for my first 9 second pass for the last couple of years with this motor. Its only a pump gas 383. It was a high for me. So my car did its best at the end of the season. I, on the other hand for the last two events couldnt cut a good consisted light. I dont know what happened. LOL !! It was a little downer. I did finish in the top 10 for my first year which it a great achievement which I am proud of. I've had fun all season, met a lot of nice guys and am looking forward to next season. I will be attending the top 16 and hopefully not donating my share of the pot. Thanks to everyone.

Congrats on the 9 second slip!

That's a big milestone going single digits.
I just did it in my ZO6 back in October at the LSX Shootout.
Edgar even got it on video! (a nice bonus)

Congrats on the top 10 finish too.

Congrats Vinny! Mixed emotions? You need a psychologist. Hope it's not the water in Massapequa Park! I'll switch places with you. You did a great job in your rookie year. Congrats! I just wish I can get a 9 second time slip before the season is over. At another track and not E-town.

Vinny, that's a good running combination......almost too good. I had to try to model it in my simulators, and to my surprise it was almost dead on, however i don't think it has the incrementals correct. Can you post the incrementals of one of your 10.0 runs?

I forget what stall you told me you had, so assumed 5500...and 2800# with you in it. 4.10 gears and a guide. Assumed cam as solid roller 256/264 on a 110 LSA w//.600 lift 11:1 CR.

It came up with 500 ftlbs @ 5600; 545hp @ 6300. Simulated run showed:

60 - 1.40
330 - 4.02
660 - 6.30 @ 108
1000 - 8.30
1320 - 10.05 @ 125 (i don't get the MPH.....it's usually too generous and 125 is too low)

I run a 4.56 gear with 29" slick yesterday. Race weight is 2870 with the slick and 2920 with the drag radials. A 125 mph is good for about a 10.60 to 10.70. Also with that duration it going to have peak power higher than that, more closer to 6800.

here are the numbers for the 9 second pass. 5500 stall, glide with 1.80 gear set. It would 60' better with a turbo 350. Its just under 11:1, maybe 10.75:1

60'- 1.40
330-4.08
660-6.37@108.46
1000-8.34
1320-9.97@134.58
