The Etown Crew is Number one in my Book!!!
How many guys to do you know that would let you borrow their brand new Tahoe and trailer to take your broken car home...100 miles away. How many people would let you store your car in their garage for a week at a moments notice...and then help you fix your busted hot rod. And how many dudes would then let you borrow their their car to RACE!!!!!
Well, the guys at Etown do this like it's normal behavior!!!! :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel:
After my car spit out about 1/2 the rear end on my second time trial...i thought, oh sh$$t, now what. Within a few minutes of feeling helpless, i had more offeres to help than i can count. Bob Quickblack85...immediately offers me his trailer to transport my car to wherever, Dennis Red98C5 offers his garage (as his car is being repaired at Cartek)...and then help me tear it down....and then makes me lunch!!!! Then upon returning to the track and realizing i'm about to walk away with ZERO points in the corvette challange...JP Red96Coupe comes to the resque and offers his car as a backup....then the two us us played tag you're it, switching drivers in each round...this got to be a bit hectic in the later rounds.
All i can say is WOW. This is why i love racing...THE PEOPLE!!!! "Most racers have a shelfless, how can i help attitiude" Nowhere will you a better bunch of people. I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!!!!

That's AWESOME someone helped out like that. Sorry bout what happened to your ride, but isn't great to know you won't be stranded. Hope to see the car back out on the track soon, best of luck to you.

That's what's great about this place, we are all brothers and sisters and will lend a hand anytime it's needed.
Bob,Dennis and JP all deserve great thanks for what they did yesterday.

Ralph, as I've always said "racing isn't about the cars it's about the PEOPLE".
Good thing come to good people and E-town has always been like a big family, thats why for me helping to run this series is a way for me to give something back to the sport and to the people that have given so much to me.
Nowhere else will you see people so many good people pull together for someone in need. It makes me very proud to be part of the sport.

Not surprising - for all the kidding around (and hard racing!), like everyone's said ......it's a "stand up" group :yesnod: :blueangel: :yesnod: .
Glad you're back in business too!! (isn't that a neat set-up for a garage? hmmmm, you got a ride from JP, and food from DK -- you ARE living on the edge !!   :jester )

Kudo's to the E-town crew. Those of us that spend a lot of time at the track recognize this behavior as typical of drag racers almost anywhere. At my home track, Bandimere Speedway, if someone breaks or is in need they go to the tech shack and ask for help. There request is announced and usually within 10 - 15 minutes someone has come to the rescue! It never ceases to amaze me!
Two seasons ago I got a flat front runner when returning to the pits after a quarter-final round win. I had very little time and I thought my day was finished...but no....my pit neighbors sprang into action, found a car with the same size tire and they took over. They wouldn't even let me help....telling me to prepare for the next round (weather station, cool down, etc.). The happy ending is that I beat my long-time nemisis for the first time in the final round and I now have some great drag racing friends.
I've had opportunities since to participate in this contagious behavior and it feels good. It's a win-win deal that defines drag racing and the people who do it!
If I ever had the opportunity to go to ETown to race I would feel as welcome as if I were going to Bandimere Speedway! I think that says a lot!
