Default Tires Setup

I'm in the market for a drag pack setup.

I've got a C5 MN6 H/C (VXR5/TFS215). Stock rear end

I've just bought GTO spare for front and 17' magnesium on back

I'm not an expert in tire.
What do you think about the combo :
-M&H Racemaster MSS017 - M&H Racemaster Muscle Car Drag Tires
26.00 x 4.50-17
-Mickey Street 26/11.5/17

I'm drag racing in France and the prep is not that good (no prep sometime on airport field). Are these tires a good choice for me ?

That's a very good tire set up for those wheels...you can also go with the Mickey Thompson or Hoosier 275-40-17 drag radials but many will agree that if your track's prep is 'marginal' that the 17" bias ply ET Streets might be the better choice. And you can also try the M&H skinny radials if you want, they're a little heavier but also more 'street/highway' friendly.
Just remember that the stock/unaltered GTO spares don't bolt right up to Corvette hubs, they need a little filing/massaging of the inner hub area to fit.

Thanks !
The tire setup is only for for track. I don't see me driving on the highway with the gto spare.

Is there pic/tutorial for the filing/massaging ?

I hope I will not destroyed my read end !

I don't know for sure if it's an old wives tale or not but in my case my cars go straight and I'm not tempting luck.
Stick with Bias Tire fronts with slicks on the rear and radials if you are running Drag Radials on the rear.

I have good luck running BFG drag radials on rough tracks with little or no prep like the Scion Arm Drop Drag races at Texas Motor Speedways Drag Race in the Pit Lane !
