I put Hoosier 28 10 17 slicks on my C6 with around 600hp on an A6. I left the stock front wheels on. We were at an 1/8 mile I ran 6.9 with the *** end moving around very bad. I would of never made it to a 1/4 mile. And I did not pick up anything from the Nitto NTO5Rs. I had the tire pressure from 16lbs down to 10lbs. Nothing changed. What would cause the car to move around so bad? If it matters I have the F55 and I had it in sport
even when driving down the street, any irregularities in the road will have a tendancy to occasionally make the car feel like it wants to dart from side to side a bit.
When that happens on the track and you have Bias out back, the darting gets exaggerated though the stiffness of the chassis and because the softness of the sidewall on the bias there is nothing to keep it from swaying back and forth. it will get worse with each sway until it is uncontrollable. I've seen guys go from the left lane to the right wall because of it.
I am not a fan of bias on back and radial on front...neither is any tire manufacturer..not stable, particularly the faster you go...
I don't know what weight your car is but I run Hoosier slicks out back and use 14 lbs. in them...my car is 3700 lbs. with me in it....remember, the rule of thumb is to run as much pressure as you can and still hook...
Are those Nitto's radial slicks or bias ply?...if they are radial slicks you need to try 25 lbs. and work from there...if they are bias, get some bias skinny's up front and then 16 lbs. in the slicks should be a good starting point...
I used to run my car with bias in rear and radials up front, yes its all over the place. You will get used to it. The first few passses do feel quite odd though...
