Well, folks, the magic number hit me today. I know, I know, it's not exactly drag racing-related......or may be it is....... Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick thanks to my friends who made few years of my life very enjoyable. I won't name you individually because you know who you are and I don't want to omit anyone.

I made it to the second half of the big game and every yard counts. Love to all of ya and I hope to see some of you soon.......in my rear view mirror PEACE!!!!!!

Miss you Leo!

Thanks guys. Been kicking tires for a while but no definte plans to get back into racing. Unfortunately, I'm a "go hard or stay home" kind of guy and the game has evolved beyond my humble means these days Putting a race car in my garage is like putting crack in a drug addict's hands.

I miss racing but I miss the people the most. I flew over E-town few days ago and it brought back sooooo many great memories. I asked the helicopter pilot to hover over the stripe for a little while so I could remeber all of my victories and wipe the tears of defeat Great times!

I know you weren't necessarily looking for another late model Corvette build and that you'd also likely want to build something serious (like perhaps for the new EFI 8.90 index class or the Friday might 8.50 index) but don't overlook the Corvette Challenge Pro 10.50 index class either. It's a little more 'budget' (though I use that term VERY loosely LOL) oriented yet still a fast and super fun, ultra competitive series.
C5 automatics are out there now for under $13k.
Rebuild the 4L60, 3600 stall.
A nice centrifugal blower system with a small blower cam at 10psi (mild fuel system upgrades).
3.42 or 3.73 gears with some hardened shafts and upgraded diff.
Roll bar and harness.
Some drag radials.
Drive it to the track, no truck/trailer needed.

One could possibly build a competitive Pro 10.50 C5 from scratch for under $30k out the door and also get a sweet fast street car out of it as well.

Maybe a stock cube/forged rotating assembly later on if/when the stock bottom end lets go.

Maybe cheaper yet if going with a C4 (NA big block or big inch small block with a TH350?).

Do it man.

I'll never build another car. Too many built cars out there for sale. I can buy Carter's vert for $30 grand turn key and run high 9s/low 10s.

Way too much money to build a car. Plenty of fast ones available for a fraction of the cost to build including at least one or more that can run as fast as you want to go!

Don't be bitter that my number hit you about a decade ago I have a better shot of racing top fuel dragsters for Al-Anabi than getting lunch out of you!

Happy Birthday Paul.

Here, you'll be needing this.

You may not be able to race for Al-Anabi........but you might want to talk to Al-Anonymous........He's got cash.....

Oh no doubt, I was just talkin' about the cars...as far as the actual skills required out on the track go, well, Paul is very good of course with a proven winning history but he'd certainly have his work cut out for him with this current Pro 10.50 crew.
