Tranny Question
I am rebuilding a C3 it will be for normal street driving mainly, but I am really wanting to be able to take it out and race some.
I am looking to put in a 425ish engine in it. I have a TH400 tranny that was in the car with the stock 350.
I dont want to switch the car over to a full manual car and was curious is anyone can give me information on a couple of things. Or just guidance in general.
1. Is it feasible to turn the TH400 into a automatic / manual transmition? (I am not sure if that is what it is called, but I want to run normal automatic, but if I race get an automatic feel)
2. Do they make shifters that look a little more stock or at least fit into the standard location without too much mods.
3. If not the th400, which tranny could I use?
Forgive me if this is basic I just dont quite get the details. I know what I want to do, but dont know exactly how to get there.
