et vs speed
just curious about my et vs speed. 67 corvette with a 780 hp 540, turbo 400, 3:36 gears, drag radials, car is about 3350 lbs. I have been shifting early, trying to not break anything in the rear. 1-2 is 6000 and 2-3 is 5600 rpm. I am running 6.95 at 101 mph at a track altitude of 5500' with 7000' air. My 60' is 1.58 and my optimum shift point is near 7000 rpm, (max hp is at 6800 rpm). I know my times and speed would be much better at lower altitude, the correction is about 93.5 per nhra. The question is , is my speed correct fot the et I am running? Don't know the effect of shifting at 7000rpm, but think it would help a lot. Any thoughts?
