Just a note to the moderators. Was at the C5 Registry drags at Beach Bend ,and the track was very slick as usual. Lets see if we can get good prepping of the track for a change. Even if it is for an additional charge to race.
Thanks In Advance, Whiteboy
I agree with whiteboy, (even if his car is purple), we need to prep the track and keep the novices from running thru the water with their street tires.
That, as all Drag racers know screws up the launch for the next five or six runs.
I'd be willin to chip in a few extra bucks for some nice e/t's to brag about.
I know at the Grand National event they have in BG, they prep the track, and it does help.
Mr. Mojo please ask troy, i'm sure a lot of guys would be willin to chip in some $$$ if it would mean a better e/t.
Thanks
I would like for the moderators to discuss this with the track operators. Offer them a higher admission fee if they will prep the track properly. The key word here is " Properly " I don't think any of us would object to a higher fee if the track is going to be taken care of. Just my thoughts, Thanks, Whiteboy

whiteboy, I called Beech Bend, they said for me to contact Larry or Adam at the NCM to discuss it further, but the woman on the phone told me it should be no problem. If only I could get a definite answer.
I talked with Adam already, I need to contact Larry just to make sure the track knows we are serious about the track prep.
The track agreed with me when I mentioned that the track mentality was swaying towards not prepping due to the number of street tired cars that would be running.
I did mention, we would be willing to pay a little extra to ensure that they will prep the track.

Re: Beach Bend Track Preppiing??? (QUICK 35TH)
I hope you all know VHT will do nothing with all the street tires, they will only peal it up. Even drag radials aren't the best for this but the help. Just how many do you think you'll have on DR?????
Not many I bet. Just have a good time and remember the conditions are the same for everyone.
For me the track was fine I spun only one in about 8 runs but car is mostly stock with BFG drag radials!!! Is that about how many people show up at that event??

The ZR-1 group has some real hardcore attendees, but The Gathering seemed a little light on attendance this year - I didn't get a count to compare, but it looked smaller. Maybe Adam will read this and respond. The banquet and awards presentation was a lot smaller.
We sure were light on Grand Sports! :cry Only about 13 cars and no one else racing. I made up for it by getting in 22 runs on Saturday! Sure kicked some ZR-1 butt in that first round of competition (I won the bye ). Naturally, I broke out in the second round. Congrats on winning!
My buddy Henry Younger took his 2002 Z06 out and ran a 12.75 bone stock, just as delivered by the General. Whatta car...
This is my third Gathering and by far the best. It's great to see the friends made in previous years.
I raced at the Gathering Saturday afternoon. I felt like I was the only stock LT1 there - it was really lonely.
My best run of the day was my first run, and I forgot to turn off my ASR. I was only able to pull a 14.07 at 100 mph. After that I just stunk (My car has run a 13.7 at 103 mph, also at BB, perfect 68 degree / 50% RH day @ 600 ft.).
The best run I saw was a yellow ZR-1 with the vanity plate "MOONEYES" that ran a 11.62 at 126.4. I was running him at the time. It was interesting seeing him go one, two, three lengths ahead, and watching the small puffs of tiresmoke every time he shifted. Tachypsychia made the whole run feel like slow motion.
It sure felt slick to me, unless my car is broken. I was running 2.1-2.2 60ft time (yeah, I know, that's bad, but I only had audible spin once. I've got 2.59's and Firestone SZ50 285s) and cutting a very clean .7 light, with one that was a .507. The seven runs I got in, I got the jump on the car in the other lane (All ZR-1s) six times out of seven, but they'd all passed me at 330'.
All eight runs were taken from 12:31 pm to 1:11 pm - 40 minutes, or about five minutes between runs with no cool-down. Y'see my 60' kept getting better until the last run, and I somehow hit 98.04 mph three times, but I've lost half a second and 5 mph since Opening Day last year.
There was a LOT of old rubber built up at the staging line.
Let's see if any of the other folks at the Gathering felt slow.

Keep your fingers crossed.
I agree with you Frank, but I will be on street tires not by choice... so will 99% of the other racers.. I do not think I would even try to run slicks 1000 miles from home anyway    :seeya
