Ok, Ive had several Corvettes over the last 20 years but had never tried my hand at drag racing before. I took my 07 Z06 to Lebanon Valley last night and posted this for my first run ever down a track against my buds S/C'd 06 Rustang
My car is bone stock, no tune and the stock good year run flats with good life left on em. I didnt burn out before and just tried to launch it like i was at a traffic light. Guys I were with were running low 12's in their stangs, said it was really good for a newbie. Anyway, Im hooked. Never got to really see what this incredible car can do before. Met some great people with some good advice so Ill keep going to try and get better. Be safe guys.
Not too bad for your first time out with it .....there's more in it that's for sure, especially now that it's getting a little cooler out.
Keep at it and enjoy.

I ran my 2006 Z06 for the first time ever last weekend, in fact the first time I'd been in any car at the dragstrip and ran almost identical times as yours. My best of 11.99 at 124.18 with a DA of 2900 and on General UHP tires. It makes you appreciate the guys that can run these cars about a full second faster.

Very Nice Run !!! If you can, I'll be at Lebanon this Sunday racing my 05 C6 (A4) all I have is a "Tune by Cartek" and a Vararam CAI.. I have run a best of 12.08 @ 115 mph....
Try and be there if you can, and look for me (05 LMB with NY plate "ILLEGL") my buddy with a low 11 sec black 1986 will also be there also...
Great run for a first timer with street tires!!! You have no place to go but UP !! Hope to see you Sunday....

Good Job, now do some auto-x or track action and see what a Corvette can really do!!! They are impressive in a straight line, throw some corners in the mix and WOW!!!
I have drag raced my C4 on a Friday night and Auto-x'ed the next morning on Saturday. Try that with about any other car!!! Besides another Corvette.... Then cruised to a Car Show Sunday. Gotta love it!!!

A few years ago we ran a HPDE at Sebring, then went to Moroso for a Corvette Challenge drag race that afternoon, then closed the evening watching one of our Vette buddy's band at a tavern.
Now that was a good day! I toted the tires for all the events behind my convertible Corvette. Then drove it to work all week. Gotta love the versatility!
Nice run on 1st time out and also on a set of crap for rear tires also. Get you a set of rear rims and a good D/R tire are set of slicks for it and you will be thinking you got a diff car.... Man be safe and have fun in her...... Robert

It's crazy, the top guys have gone 10.9 - 11.2s bone stock in those cars...I was hanging out with a couple of them at the track just yesterday actually, Gary and Dr. Ron.
The Corvette C6 Z06 (the entire C6 (and even C5) line for that matter) is TRULY one of the most amazing automotive achievements ever produced in my opinion.
Wow, the old PBIR (aka: Moroso) LOL. That's sort of what it looked like the last time I was there (back in 1996?).
That was 2006! The bleachers were new since 96 (and carried over to the east side of the track).
About time for you to make another trip down. It's really nice now. Was there last week, and we've now got unattended Sunoco gas pumps with 100 to 110 octane fuel! Not cheap but great to have on site. A gallon or two makes a big difference I've noted.

Yeah that makes sense as I didn't recognize the bleachers in that pic.

Yeah really, for someone who used to go to south Florida almost every year (sometimes twice in one year), I haven't been down there since July 1997!
Maybe this winter will mark my return.

My first time in a C6Z06 I ran a best of 12.0X, and that was after having raced a C5Z for 3 yrs.!!
So I'd say you did good! Keep at it!
I'd suggest lowering the rear psi to 25-26 and DO do a small "rolling burnout" (as I like to call it) up to the line. Cleans the debris off the tires and gets them a bit more sticky.
