I have read about 200 threads and still haven't found what I am looking for. I recently picked up a 2010 grand sport with automatic.
Found the posts stating stay above 28psi on tires or computer will shut it down around 80mph.
What traction computer mode do you race in? Normal, competition?
Foot brake? Torque motor little bit, ease into throttle or enough tire to hook wot from light - this track soaks the line in vht
I assume just leave in S and let computer fo shifting.
I usually stay away from water and just spin once quickly before stage to pick up vht and clear any rocks or debris.
Heading to track Saturday and forecast is 60's with low humidity and sun to hopefully get some heat in the track. Not a new guy to drag racing but new to this car and don't want to waste time when I know the info is on here.

Actually I believe the number is 24psi but even being able to go that low likely still won't help a stock runflat tire so I'd suggest 26-28 to start with.

I always turned everything off completely (both Traction Control and Active Handling) when I was still stock but most suggest leaving the Active Handling on or at least running in Comp mode.

That's going to take a little trial & error but I believe my best ETs came from leaving right at idle when I was still bone stock.

Yes. In stock trim, full automatic 'S' mode typically gives ever so slightly more aggressive/higher RPM shifts than 'D' mode but either one is likely going to result in better results than trying to time the paddles/shifting manually.

And that's what most do as well.
I personally went through the water and literally boiled the tires and got excellent results doing so but again you might have to experiment a little.

Depending on how many miles on the car and your fuel level you should run somewhere in the 12.0 to 12.5 range at over 116mph.
fill your fuel tank up you will need the weight. If you have megnatic ride control switch it to TOUR mode so your supension is softer. If you want to run in Comp mode you must keep hitting reset on your dash to clear the tire warnings before it will let you engauge Comp. Inflate your front tires to 45psi, this will set an over inflate warning but will help.
True but with a full tank I'd have to shift my ET predictions on up to a range of 12.1 - 12.6.

I always kept mine at or around 40psi simply to avoid getting that dreaded DIC warning.
Awesome thanks guys.
Fastest stock car i have driven was my 04 cobra and on f1's i got 12.80's.
Last car prior to buying vette had a 70mm
My car doesn't have adj suspension so no worries there.
Approximately 6500 miles on car now.
I am currently at 1/2 tank and have a 50 mile ride to the track Saturday pending no rain.
I will run it in comp mode on one pass before turning all off and leave in S.
I have another tip for you that I always forget and the next day I hate myself for it. Buy a roll of blue painters tape and tape your back fenders!!!!! Your tires will throw rocks and rubber when you do your burn out.
if you have a race shop around you, you could purchase some Track Bite for you tires. I have never used it on stock street tires but it could not hurt.

Would like to buy a pair of drag radials and an A&A kit but I am trying my best to exert some self control.

Just so you know more power just compounds your problems! I beat up on cars all the time that have way more power then me. Spinning is not winning. Give me a stock LS3 Vett that cuts a 1.3 or 1.4 60' and I will kill guys at the 1/8 mile track. You will never win the arms race at the track but 1/8 mile sure handicaps the big HP guys. They will try to roll out and catch you on the big end but on 1/8 mile there is not much big end.
get a set of 17" rear wheels and some Hoosier slicks. Subfloor cuts some killer 60' times with this set up.
I just added a new engine, new trans, new rear diff, etc and I ran slower until my last pass. All the extra power just made me blow the tires away. Spend the money on Pfadt rear trans mounts so you dont get wheel hop. Wheel hop will break stuff real quick!!!!
Yep, no arguments there.
Been drag racing for 20 plus years now, uggg getting old.
Plenty of experience with turbo mustang I recently sold on trying to get assload of power down the first 100'. Blower and tires with moderate boost just fun factor walking more expensive cars here and there. I definitely dont want another racecar.
