Default ET Street Radials, other questions..

Guys,
I've only had a couple runs down track, and hoping to go next weekend. I will be running new ET Street Radials (275/40/R17), and was wondering if you had a break-in procedure? What pressure do you run? How long a burnout do you do? I also notice some people put more pressure in the front tires (40 psi). Is this just to lower rolling resistance or what is point of that? Any tips for launching?

C5, A&A Supercharger, Built A4 Trans, 3600 rpm stall, 3:15 rear.

Thanks,
JesseJay

!st burnout long. After that once you see a litttle smoke, you should be fine. Especially with a 3.15. 18 lbs, you should be good. Check the pressure after the first run. Air up in the front will incease the diameter slightly, you may get better reaction times. Thats up to you, not necessary. Good luck, post up some times!

long burnout = lots of tire smoke.

Default results are in

Alright guys.. I manged 12.03 @ 118. But my 60' was 1.9x. Still a ton left to gain! I so wanted into 11s but track was cold (no grip) and still getting used to launching with this setup.

Is this enough of a burn out? Hope so!

I hope that was only the very 1st burnout with the DR's. You don't need to burn them that much. The 1st one of the day to much less then that one, then the rest just to first smoke. Overdoing it can actually hurt, not help traction.

Yes it was. If you look at the best run of day, you can see more what I plan to do all future runs... the main thing I missed there is I need to spin a little after I let off line lock to clean the tires good.

I think you still had some water on the tires in the burnout on the 2nd video. I could hear the tires squeal a little than it hooked. You should easily be in the 11's when you pull down your 60' into the 1.6-1.7 range. You have the power from the MPH. I would only comment on the 3:15 gears. You should think about doing a 3:42 when the time comes, otherwise nice run.

Thanks!

Yeah, I agree 100% with what you said. I didn't let off the line loc soon enough so the wheels where not spinning to clean the wheels as I rolled forward. That is one reason I like having videos of runs, so I can see what I am doing wrong. I think I should easily be able to get there. I am not at WOT till 4 seconds into the run. The first 4 seconds are at 50-75% throttle. I would like to see 11.5 or 11.6 and think it's reasonable.

Here is my exact times for the run.. every number is my best ever.

60’ 1.965
330’ 5.183
1/8 7.850
MPH 92.09
1000 (bogus data...)
1/4 12.036
MPH 118.15

With a high stall converter, it's a hand full already, cannot imagine what 3:42 would do. If I ever manage to break rear, or decide to upgrade 3:42 will definitely be considered. I had been thinking 3.73 but I think that is too much!
