Schedule is out!

My point is, look at the schedule, the track has many events going on. The track has cut one day out of there schedule (Friday). I raced the 10.00 Index on Friday night. Do I like the idea of the Index classes moved to Sunday? NOPE. But, for the best interest of the track ($$$$$) they did this. It could be worse, this could be a mom and pop track that is only 1/8th mile with no classes and just time shots every time they are open.
As I said a few posts before, the schedule interferes with three events for me. So, if I drop two - I am looking good as long as I do well.
I think most of you need to look at the overall picture here.
I have a lot on my plate, I am trying to get a RC track up and running at RP for 2012 on Sunday. This will mean after I race the CC, I would need to go over to the RC trap and prep it for Sunday. I will also miss my Top Street and 10.00 Index. Sucks for me, but this is what I decided to do.
My point is, I think everyone should make some adjustments in there personal life for the CC. The schedule is out so there is no excuse about not knowing or what ever else you can think of.
Last comment: Get your Vettes ready for 2012. Come out to the Pre season party and have some fun at Thrust Performance. Redirect your anger on the track and go rounds.

There will be ZERO rain or heat out dates this year, if it rains, we lose the race day. Every other weekend is booked with larger events, and there will not be double headers again.
Simple fact here is that RP cannot stay open with the proceeds of just the CC, they need the bigger venues to pay for all that property. The tough mudder competition brings in more revenue then probably all the CC's combined in one seasons event, tough to turn that away as the owners of the race track. It's just a shame that both events cannot happen at the same time, it's not like they are playing "he man" down the drag strip.
Damn.

Doug speaketh the truth. Our little $30 entry fee times 60 racers per Saturday probably doesn't even cover the staff's salaries for the day. Never mind all of the other overhead of running the track....
I am just thankful that I still have a place to race and even better it is only 15 minutes from my house. So you won't hear any bitching from me
I have been to so many tracks along the east coast and Etown is one of the biggest, has great seats, not some wooden splinter giving seats that you are scared to walk up, has bathrooms that are always clean, has good food, friendly staff, and more importantly, they have become like family to most of us. I wish there was more we could do to help keep them open longer but whoever said the CC event prob doesn't even cover the salaries for the day is right.
I hope the CC keeps going and Etown stays open for a long time.
