Anyone running Weld RT-S 17x5.5 on a 'Z51' C6?

Anyone running Weld RT-S 17x5.5 on a 'Z51' C6?
Anybody have any thoughts on if the 5.5 would work?
Weld says that they list a fitment on a C6 using a 17x6, medium pad, with a 4.3 backspace (20mm offset)
If I look at the 17x5.5, it also has the medium pad, just a 3.8 backspace (14mm offset).
Is it accurate then that the 'pad' that mounts against the hub and the spoke position doesn't change (so no impact on caliper clearance)... All that changes is that the barrel has .5" removed on the inside?

I can't answer your question BUT, my shop just put a set on my C5 for the track. Feel free to give Jeremy Preston a call, I'm sure he'll be able to help you out with your questions. Heck he might even be able to get you a deal on them. My signature has his number.
