update, i removed the stock yellow colored bump stops on the rear QA1 shocks & tried it at 6 clicks like before, it had tons of travel (GOOD) but jumped back and forth off the line way worse than before, so I took your advice & turned the rears up to 10, it stopped the porpus'in off the line 100%, i would say the rear suspension didn't even move but it still dropped down/planted the tires just in the sidewall travel.... only problem was the track was junk all night so it never hooked no matter what i did. I'll test more this friday night cuz i know the track will be great.
Anything else you can think of?
A little lesson in how it works in the rear the initial movement in the tire is going to be to SLAM down or extend the shock, this drives the tire into the pavement, the compression is the adjustment needed to keep the tire from going the opposite direction or squatting to much so its a fine line between too much and not enough. Think of your rear suspension as a 300 lb basket ball, I slam it in the ground its natural progression is to slam back up.
yep i understand completely, I'll let you know how it goes. Only issue is see now is this car is really low so i know on bumps the tires rub on the inner wheel well so with this rubber bumper gone it'll have even more travel so that'll be interesting..... but with the shocks set to 10 it shouldn't move very much
I think the yellow shock spacers are to protect against shock damage in case the shock bottoms out. Without it, the internal piston may slam against the end of the cylinder damaging it or something else within. I would put the spacer back in. If the car is not hooking, maybe go back to 8 or 9 on the compression. If the car hooks and slams the rear, go back up 1 or 2 clicks.
