Default First time on drag strip

During a company event, they opened the track for a run all event. 1/8 track, my best run was a 8.752. After beating a few mustangs i could not stop, they ran a bracket/ dial-in event later in the night in which i won the championship over a 2012 gt-cs, 2008 gt and a bmw m3 (best competition). very good night! ran a consistant 8.85.

And that's how it all begins........ I give you 2 months before you start looking for a quicker car or making your car quicker. Drag racing is a degenerative disease of one's wallet and sanity.

If I had a car that consistent, I wouldn't change a thing other than oil and plugs

Went thru the going faster stage, went to a faster car, more maintenance and more money. Wasn't as much fun and when funds are low, seemed like more parts needed etc.

Enjoy it, there is a wealth of knowledge on here.

Excellent job for your first time out.

And it starts...

Then try auto-x, it is even more addicting. At least for me.
Then you have to balance both if using same car.

Best way is to keep it fairly stock and drive the snot out of it.

... in 20 years, when your non-racing friends ask 'what would your life have been-like, had you never gone racing for that first time', you will look them in the eye and reply

"...I'D BE RICH & BORED..."
