1/4 mile suggestions/HELP
Currently im running an 01 Z06,
Engine Mods: Stock 347, prc 227's, ms4 cam, lg super pro's, B&B Bullets
Suspension: Stock
Tires: Mickey Thompson ET street Bias ply's 26x11.5x16
Drivetrain: Everything stock (stock clutch, 3.42's, tranny etc)
Now, Ive ran this car probably a total of 30 passes give or take, with a personal best of 11.69 @ 121, with a 1.706 60ft. (Elevation 1600ft, 34*C)
Its very consistent with trapping 120-121, and 60 fts are fairly consistent as well 1.7xx most of the time, i do realize im still learning the whole launch and clutch situation, but as per 60 ft's how do you feel that those times look.
Ive been debating with changing the rear end ratio to either a 3.90 or 4.10, as my car is more so top end power.
Im basically looking for a little input from the 1/4 mile guys, who know their corvettes and their drag racing, id like to run faster and that i know i will when i finally get my fast92/92 setup installed.
Things are a little slow around here, plus the six speed racing stuff mostly gets discussed in the C5 Performance Section.

Yup I'm "THAT OLD"First remember these two things...with regard to your ET & MPH
#1 more Horsepower will give you more "SPEED or MPH" But it may also cause you to run a slower ET "TIME" because of wheel spin on the launch..
#2 Chassis set up "correctly" WILL get you a quicker or lower ET but will NOT make you go faster (MPH) With HP increase you should get a higher MPH.. I'll give you my car as an example...
I have an 05 (A4) when I bought it "Bone Stock" it ran 12.97 @ 109 mph
So I added Drag radials, & I went 12.8x but my MPH was the same 109.22 because I was not making mote HP .. I was just putting the HP I had to the TRACK
So now I want a better ET.. I got a CAI (Vararam) KOOKS Headers, & a "TUNE"...
Well the car responded by running 12.45 @ 112 mph... I still wanted more MPH & better ET ...
I got a Hi Stall converter this week & tonight at E Town I ran 11.75 @ 117 MPH
I emptied the piggy bank, so will have to wait until after the Christmas holidays for my Cam & Heads.. that should get me into the low 11s (I HOPE)

That said, these 6 speed cars love big gearing. Go with a 4.10 built diff, and you'll see what I mean. Crazy fun on the street and the track numbers will be what you're looking for. You MPH will increase and your ETs will drop. You'll be right in the peak of your HP when crossing the traps, instead of 1000 rpm below it.
For street cruising you'll likely be at about 2100 RPM at 75 mph.

As per MPH goes, trapping 120-121 all day, ive definitely got the power to run quicker and yes, its going to take some seat time. The clutch may also be hurting me a little bit on the 60 ft's, as the car has 100,000kms on it, and its still on the same clutch that it had when i bought it.(not sure if its after market, or stock)
