New Best....
Thanks I thought that was the name of it. I went there a few times as a spectator, but I could not find any information on the web. Can you send me a website address? How is the track there for racing? I will definately let you know when I go. I want to check out a different track near Bloomsburgh, PA this Saturday, its about 2.5hrs from me.
There was a question about wheel spin off the line. I am still on my street tires and hope to get slicks soon. My dad just went and bought a car trailer so now driving the car that far on skinnies and slicks will not be an issue. This weekend I am going to take the skinnies in another vehicle and change them when we arrive. That should help some too. I have not yet watched the video of this past weekend. I'm nearly certain there is some wheel spin. But man, I could really tell I was coming out of the hole a lot quicker.
I am scheduled for a Dyno run tomorrow in State College, PA. The guys are fairly new to the whole dyno system and I would like to know how you guys typically run your cars on the dyno. I have never been to one. Do you just sample one gear? Or get it in drive and go through all the gears. Put it in D and let it shift into 3rd and then floor it? Give me some insight. The guy there said it was up to me. I want the most helpful and accurate data I can get. This will surely help with tuning. Provided the data is correct. As stated, these guys are new to the dyno. They just got is set up a few weeks ago.
Any pointers you guys can provide with be very helpful. Thanks.
What track were you racing at ? Keystone is listed at 1210 feet actual elevation, with mediocre air, the DA can be 2000+ft easily.

The track I usually run at is Beaver Springs. I was asking about Keystone because that too would be within a reasonable driving distance from me ~2.5hrs.
Where did you get the information on the track elevations? Can you also let me know what the elevation of Numidia is. That is the track I am going to test this Saturday. Thanks.
Corkvette, Thanks for letting me know about Keystone. My dad raced there a while back and hated the finish area. He said there was a big dip that bucked you towards the cars roof violently. Maybe that was the reason for the revamp.
Can you let me know when it opens for sure. I would like to meet up with you and race.
Later.
Unfortunately, I don't think elevation is hurting you much.
Keystone = 1210 feet
Numidia = 972 feet
Beaver Springs = 642 feet
I've raced at a 300 foot track and a 900 foot track with little difference in et and mph... maybe 1/2 mph at the most.
Go to http://www.Whowon.com/racetracks.asp
When you click on a track, usually at the bottom of that page somewhere shows the track elevation. Its not a 100% accurate, but usually within a few hundred feet.

No I think your right. Damn! There goes yet another excuse! :lol: I just can't get out from under this freakin rock.
I tried my dad's skinnie on the front. Perfect fit, just had to go get some new metric lugs. I will be running Saturday with them. I may even try a few different chips there too. I think I will bring my programmer.
Thanks again. Wonder why that Chamber of Commerce listed that area between 1800-2100 ft? What else is new. Another falsification of goverment documentation.
I'm getting pretty excited about my dyno today. I have the guy quoting me a 396 totally forged for this winter.
I will post the details of that in the tech section. I would like to hear your thoughts.
Thanks.
Jesse

Do you wear oxygen in the car when you race :confused:
