Default Bet he wishes he didn't try to get back into the throttle...

Here's a video of a 2000-horsepower C3 hitting the wall at KOTS VIII this past weekend. I don't know what's scarier - the crash, or the total lack of crowd control.

http://www.corvetteonline.com/news/v...the-streets-8/

I'm glad he's OK, but seriously... this seems like an awfully sketchy event.

Glad for sure he is ok here. Link will not pull up. Looks like a good hard hit. Hope he can get the car back up and running for next spring...Robert

No reason at all to get back in it. But those grudge racers are a little nuts.

Note the tree in the go pro vid. No ambers at all...just stage and green.

Actually nuts is an understatement. This is what I just read off the bullet:

for those whop dont know what KOTS ; the track in unprepped as in its scraped clean of glue, no burnouts past the starting line, sr class is stock suspension on 28x10.5, Jr is stock suspension 26" with no ARB, 1/4mi. Air temp was in the 40's track was colder than that.

Sketchy?

At best its sketchy.

Fans close to track, right the launch and walls?

Holding the car for a burn out!??!

No traction compound, low 40's, 2000HP+=STUPID.

Lucky, he is not dead or many innocent bystanders.

That track needs shut down, totally unprofessional and just down right stupid, stupid, stupid. A lot of folks dropping the ball around there. Glad my local 1/4 mile is ran better than that.

I love the instant green concept. I wanted to run the old corvette challenge quick 8 that way back in the day.

I saw the no track prep thing on the bullet. Those guys need their heads examined for running like that at 40 degrees.

Well, now they're saying the third run was actually after the event was over, and just a grudge match, plus they did drag the track at some point after two previous crashes. Like that makes things better...

Just here and YB. And you'll note that the text has been revised to accurately represent that the crash happened post-KOTS, on a track that had been prepped, and that it was pedal misapplication rather than trying to save the run that caused the wreck.

If you haven't seen it yet, I replied to Trent's comments on YB and Facebook as well, and left a public message for you personally.

I posted that before your response on YB, I understand your feelings about the safety and the crowds, I am also glad to see you have edited the article to convey the true facts. That is the right thing to do, and I take back my statement. KOTS is not everyone's cup of tea and I understand if people dont like it or embrace it, but it is what we choose to do just as the wheel standers choose to do their thing.
