Anyone got "ANY" idea what dates E Town will open for the 2013 season.... I'm looking forward to (I think) the mixed index class...

When Cartek is finished I should be able to run the 11.50 however, if I have to go "In Deep" to cut a good light, I may have to run at 12.00

Right now I'm using the "old" type of Nitto's 555. size is (305/35x18") and I'm getting 1.63 - 1.68 60' times, I'm afraid to go with a higher stall converter because I "think" I'm just about at the limit of these (Nitto 555) for 60' times, & if I go to a 3600 converter, I'm going to HAVE to use MT or BFG Drag Radials..

I have to keep $$$ in mind, and with these tires, I can get a full season from one set. Remember I drive "to & from" the track and its 100 miles each way..

I had Julio port the stock intake (a FAST cost's over $800) so I now have a ported stock LS2 intake, Kooks, & a 2800 FTI converter..

When the intake was stock (unported) I ran 11.73 @ 117 mph.. (shallow staged)

I know I'll need a cam to run 11.50 if I Deep Stage so I think I'm looking at a 12.00 index, & slow the car down just a "teeney weeney bit"

Rob what tires were you using last yr and did you use a 3600 converter?? Ellis how about you ?? I really am trying to avoid spending $2000 ++ for a cam, springs, etc.. etc... also If I go cam and higher converter, I'm going to have to use a different rear tire set up.. & at my age changing tires just ain't in the picture.... I am thinking I'm going to HAVE to stick with the Nitto555 in 305/35x18"

I don't want to break the bank, & I want to keep a few $$ hidden just in-case I break something

I'm open to suggestions... someone suggested NO2 but I "think" that will throw my consistency out the window...

Hell I'm not even sure of what classes E Town will be running this yr.. I still have the option of Lebanon Valley & hell, they PAY 3rd Round Loser & I have NO TOLLS, or Traffic getting there & home...

SH(T I'm already getting "cabin fever" and its only Jan....

Rob uses 17" drag radials (I believe they're the Nitto NT05Rs now), not sure about his stall but I think it's in the 3600-3800 range?
Ellis uses 16" drag radials (Hoosiers, changes them at the track) and a similar stall size.

John, I think you should leave the car as it is right now, see how it runs and then make a decision from there. You should have more than enough to put in a solid 12.00 Index effort in any weather.
And then if you really want to step it up to 11.50 you can add the cam. I would also consider adding an underdrive pulley/balancer while you're in there already and I even think you should get that throttle body ported as well.
These little additions all add up to some nice track gains and don't effect daily drivability much at all.

With the way "E" Town is keeping us "sooooooo wellllll" informed on the 2013 schedule & classes etc..etc.. I only sent in $5 to keep my permanent # (4141) and I won't be obligated to run any specific class or worry about rain dates etc... I'll just pick & choose the races "I" want to run in, & I will have the "option" of going to Lebanon Valley any week end I want... and an added + is there is NO TRAFFIC OR TOLLS EVER going to Lebanon..

Also I KNOW what classes they run almost every weekend "Super Pro", "Pro", & "Trophy" plus the MC and Jr Dragsters...

Of course I'd love to run the CC @ E Town if they can come up with a Reasonable Schedule and not have us run 4 weekends in a row, & NONE in the summer...

Chris (ECS) this might be something for you to mention when you go to your meeting w/ E Town people....

Just a few thoughts....before you guys start slamming me remember I'm a senior citizen, & am a little slow in thinking, & putting my "few" thoughts into words...

Way I see it Jpee, 13.5 to 14.00 index, deep staging would be the ****.

You would always have a clean tree & little chance of spinning (with RP great track prep)

At least with heads up index racing everyone needs to hook with the same amount of hp, slower is better now IMO.
