Default Wheel studs

Has anyone install these type of threaded wheel studs on their C4????????

5/8'' Wheel Stud Kit: Larger shank diameter provides additional metal to metal contact with the steel for reduced stud flex and increases strength. Complete with flat type lug nuts and stud spacers to fit various thicknesses of disc brake hats. Drag race use only. 5/pkg.

Your axle flanges will need to be drilled and THREADED to accept the 5/8 studs. Deen

Deen, I know I had these on my Super Stock Chevelle but I'm wondering If anyone has done it on a C4 and what if any problems they had.

John, I use the 5/8" studs with the Strange axles. Would 1/2" studs work as well. Seems to me you would need to make sure that there was clearance on the inside of the hub.
5/8" studs are HUGE. ....But

Thanks Phil, 1/2 would be OK.

I'm more looking for the type of screw in stud more than size.

Most axle flanges are hardened and will require special tooling to drill and thread. On the 5/8" stud the stud fills the hole that's drilled in your wheel leaving no room for error when drilling the axle ( on a 5/16" or 1/2" stud the shank of the lug nut fills the wheel hole on an aluminum wheel). Unless your running big slicks like 31" X 12"wide or something similar you shouldn't have to go to the 5/8 stud. I also ran 5/8 studs in my Ford (514 cu. in. 700 HP 9.50's ET) that was after I sheared two sets of 1/2" studs off in a two month period.
P.S. I haven't done this to a Corvette so I'm just ASSUMING it would work if you sent your axles out to have the work done...you know what they say about those that assume

John,
Are you looking for a longer stud, or, do you want the larger diameter. If you are looking for a longer stud try the GM performance part. I run this stud with a 13 mm spacer behind a Weld Dragstar, through a Weld open ended lug nut and get a full 12 mm of extension past the nut. Let me know and I'll post the part number.(it's at my office)

Mike, long term I want to go to the thicker studs but for now a longer one would be find. The Moroso ones I have now are long but maybe your would be better.
