2011 Grand Sport best rims and dr's
OK I've got some added power in our 11 Grand Sport now and we are gonna need some drag radials. What size and offset rim would be best for our combo? I'd like to run as much sidewall drag radial as I can and still clear the brake calipers. It's an A6 tranny with a stock converter. Engine has an Eforce and Kooks headers and hi flo cats. Dynojet said 510 hp and 490 torque. Thanks. David

Nitto makes the NT05-R DR in 345/30/19 that should fit the OEM GS rim and not have any brake clearance or offset issues. Why go to a smaller rim and not use this tire?

Just so I am clear...a 275/45/17 DR is a better choice on a GS than a 345/30/19? More sidewall is that much better than a considerably wider tire? Maybe I better re-think looking for a GS as the platform for my drag car build vs. a "base" car since the ability to run a much wider tire was part of my choice of the GS.

C5 Z06 fronts with 315/35/17 Hoosier drag radials. They'll clear the Grand Sport brakes as long as you have the weights put on the very inside of the rim or on the outside, otherwise they'll come in contact with the caliper. I know this from personal experience as I used them on my Z06 last year.
Here's an example of how well they hook from this past weekend (I'm in the left lane both times)
