Installed dual rear 4 piston calipers last month on the bracket car. Before these brakes, I was able to stall a 3400 converter to only 2100 rpm with the stock c4 brakes. The stock Corvette brakes were 1 piston calipers and stopped the car well, but didn't have a great deal of clamping force at the line. The Strange calipers have 4 pistons per caliper with two calipers per wheel with soft pads. Needless to say, the converter can be stalled higher at the line. I was able to stall and launch at 3000 rpm over the weekend. I was getting consistant 1.40-1.41 60' times. On the 7th run since the brake install, I broke a planetary in the tranny. This gearset has probably over a thousand runs on it and has actually launched harder with a different setup in the past so it was probably time for it to go irregardless of the brakes. I am still experimenting with the launch and could very well launch at a higher rpm. Willie
I have the same issue footbreaking BlueBerry. Worn out stock brakes won't hold past 2k. I'm currently launching off the t-brake with the 3500 rpm chip on the low side of the 2 step.

Personally I think this is a great move regardless of the type racing you do. Races better + stops better = win/win IMO. Dan.

I've read the past posts about BlueBerry. That thing sounds like a monster. Do you have it tamed yet?
