remeber to ice the hell out of that pizza box, your so close to 110 mph, that you may even want to think about removing the passenger seat for a day. Why? wouldn't it suck to run 109.99 mph, and be left thinking, "man, if i had just done ....Insert... i could've been there". Good luck in any case, waiting to see that new improved time :yesnod:
It was 85+ degrees today. REALLY hot. :) I was 1 mph down, but 0.059 better in ET. Most people seemed to be saying they were down about 2 to 2.5 tenths, so that makes me happy.
We didn't get to tune the car at all, Diacom was NOT playing nice with the laptop we had today. :) Oh well, maybe next time.
I got 12 runs in myself, and L98Terror and SloRvett both did 2 runs each in it also. It was a fun day overall! I could of had tons of other ones. Fastguy got 37 runs in!
It wasn't until my last 3 runs that I finally hit 12s today. I was bogging the car BIGTIME on all other runs. I used L98Terror's advice and since I was bogging and losing time, he said to come out of the hole HARD spinning. It worked! The car still turned a not-so-impressive 2.0x 60' time, but didn't bog which allowed it to accelerate the whole time instead of bogging down and having to catch up.

13.222 @ 105.70 / 2.001 (Changed to 7* BTDC base timing here. Was at 4.5*)
13.156 @ 108.00 / 2.084
12.890 @ 108.66 / 2.018 (New personal best. Best MPH is still 109.70.)
12.897 @ 108.40 / 1.949
12.974 @ 108.81 / 2.092
I would of loved to see what cooler weather would of brought today. Overall I was pleased. I was very happy to get the 3 solid 12 runs at the end all very close of each other. I was worried about the MPH being low at about the 5th run, so I let the car cool down and bumped the timing to 7 instead of 4.5 which I was using last time to transfer some power from the top to the bottom end.
On the ride there, I was pulling cars with trap speeds around 3 MPH higher than me at the track. The old Chevy did well today for 170,190 miles on it when I staged 1st round. :D Still waiting to tune and hook it. :yesnod:
Nice Job Scorp! You are right about where I was before. I'll let you know in about 2.5 weeks how the tranny effected the times. I bet my MPH are right about 110. I am pulling 12.93 @ only 102 MPH! The car just dies in 3rd.
88tripleblack is here today with his 88 to do some tuning on his. He just had a new tranny put in his. OH what I have been missing. His is nothing more than a rebuilt stock unit, but WOW mine was way sloppy. Just can't wait to get my new one installed.
You are definately on your way. These critters are a bear to tune. Track tuning will definately benifit your cause. Looks like your in the need of most of your tune down low. Once you get that it will decrease your ET significatly. You have the exact different problem I have. Mine dies up top, yours down low.
If you need anything let me know! Any PSI reading from your setup?

Very hot out, I think I lost ten pounds sweating to death. I hardly got out of the car and rarely had a chance to remove my helmet. I was making hot laps.:D Out of 37 runs, I think I lost 7 times and won 30. Six of the losses were other Vettes and one was an LS1 Firehawk.
Scorp, slap some slicks on and turn those high 12's into mid to low 12's !! Looking forward to future results.
Beach they are already on there. My problem right now is that when the car hooks hard, it bogs down to a point in the powerband that is so weak right now that it takes forever to regain momentum and get going again. I'm having to blow away the tires on the start dumping the clutch at 4300 to spin my way to a junky 2.0x 60' time so that the car will not bog and at least accelerate the entire way.
I think once the car is tuned and we can get around the bog at launch things will really really really fall into place. :yesnod:
p.s.
My oil temp was between 225-235 on the last 3 passes. Coolant was between 205-215. That is the hottest I have ever made a pass. I normally get to run at about 160 oil and 170 coolant. For the temperature conditions I was happy with the car's performance.
