Default Are we having fun Yet?.....

Another forgettable day at the track today...I am trying to get used to my new set up so I enter a Summit Series event today in the Pro ET class...transbrakes and 2-3 steps allowed...I have the t-brake but haven't used it yet so I'll be footfeedin'...

First time shot I put in the 6200 shift pill and go 7.17 with a .050 light...meh...second time shot I put in the 6000 shift pill and go 7.20 with a sweet .082 tree....not exactly what I am looking for...

First round I catch a friend in his 64 Barracuda hatchback...he dials 7.22...I have put the 6200 chip back in so I dial 7.19, holding two...

We are off and I know I treed him by some...I have the race in hand and I hear that deadly sound once again...dat..dat..dat..dat...I'm on the rev limiter at 7 grand because the trans did not shift...again...this happened at Lakeland a few weeks ago with a 6500 rpm pill...

Once I shifted manually it was too late and I coasted off a big old first round loser...naturally I see it was my round to win in a walk...I had a .008 tree to his .045...he had no chance whatsoever...he did not know what happened and came over to thank me for the gift...

It has to be one of two problems...the shift pills do not seat solidly into the rpm switch or the shifnoid is not wired correctly since it gets too hot to touch whenever the power is on even if the car is not running...I'm thinking it's the rpm switch but I need to address the solenoid heat issue as well...btw, we ohmed the pills and they all were right on the money...

Last but not least, when I went to ride my scooter up the ramp on my trailer to go home, the rear tire spun and I went down...took a handle bar in the chest and broke a vessel in my thumb...the aluminum ramp got slick from a tiny shower...could have been a lot worse so I am not complaining...cracked the cowl on the scooter but it should be fine...

Like I said...are we having fun yet?....

p.s. I met Big Mac and his sweet Lingenfelter blown C5...runs real good...thanks to ZR-1 John for his help and Mikey for coming out...

I out did you today

My 1st TT I spun and ran 11.97,,, 2nd TT I switched lanes and hooked my 60' was 1.588 & I ran 11.64 @ 118 mph

Now I'm in the staging lanes and the guy next to me (the one who I'm racing this round) also has an 05 Vette (A4) he has street tires, and is dialed 12.45 & he starts asking me questions about launching etc..etc... I asked him how many runs he has made with the car, & he tells me this is his 2nd time to a drag strip...

I am already looking to see who I'll be racing in round 2! I dial 11.70 to his 12.45 ,,,, In my time shots I had a .014 and a .030 light, So we stage and he goes a little ahead of me, & me "KNOWING" he is a rookie I should have known better but I tried to hit the tree...

Yup I hit it -.013 RED and gave him the win... the worst part is I look at the time slip, & he had a .323 light & ran 13.10 on a 12.45 dial

I'm still kicking myself in the AZZ !!

I guess it was my turn to have a decent day. Went red in the semi finals. Close but no cigar. BlueBerry was cranking out 6.40 spot dropping.

Well I guess it's my turn pretty much there for a fun time anyway couldn't take it too seriously with the Ford Explorer anyway went deep first-time shot -063 second time shot 117 rt the car is not running consistent I just figured I was going to go out in the first round. First run I get the bye run unbelievable that made me happy On my single run and had a 015 RT it went 10.237 came up to the second race had to race Gary coy. I had a 005 to his 088 and lost....LOL I had a 10.22 on my dial and I broke out 10.185............ I still can't believe I had a bye run..........LOL they must feel sorry for me in the tower......LOL until the next race.

You had him by 83 on the tree and still broke out? Sounds like something I'd do...

At least you guys are racing. My schedule has been so busy, I haven't been able to race since the first Saturday of the month.

Next race for me is this coming Saturday.
