I would have "liked" your post Ellis if I was able too... I agree with one a month, and assume that most others do too. Our schedule blows this year, again...

While that would seem to be the more 'logical' approach, I do also see E-town's point on this as well and it might even actually be construed as a form of 'courtesy' to some of the racers.
Some racers (not just the Corvette guys/gals) travel from as far as 4+ hours away and in order to make it to the track on time they have to leave their homes by like 4 or 5am. If the track didn't make the call until 7:30 or 8am 'on the morning of' then most of these people could be almost all the way to the track before finding out they could still be home in bed instead LOL.
Plus they have to arrange their staff accordingly as well and such.
When it looks that 'likely' that it's going to rain, I can almost agree with them making the call the day before, almost.

That's great that they called it so early. Had we not, thrown in the towel, on Thursday, we would have been getting ready to go today. And not being in the road now for about an hour..... We have been on 287 before and once at RP, in the line waiting to get in, when I saw on my phone that they cancelled a race. Now that's frustrating and a waste of time and gas. Thank u RP for being courteous of the racers this time!!

Yup, that happened to me once as well, canceled while already waiting in line at the gate (and there was no rain in sight when they did it either ) and I was pissed even though I live only 30-35 miles away, I can't imagine how I'd feel if traveling YOUR distance and that happened.

Daym I sure wish someone had called me... I drove 100 miles in the RAIN on my Drag Radials (that are worn past the wear bars) at 35 mph.. I left my house at 5 AM drove 4 hr to RP....

I was The ONLY car in the line to get in... There were NO track personal people there, & No Other Racers .. so I fell asleep and waited until 12 noon & it was Still Raining...

So I figured I'd wait a little longer just in-case the rain stopped... so I stayed there by myself until 4 pm Thinking if the RAIN Stopped they would get the jet dryers, and I'd be the Only Car, & win the CC on a "Single" I'd win the race in ONE ROUND .. well by 7 pm when no one showed up..???????? I was thinking it "Might Be a Rain Out....or they RP might still get it in...

But the rain did not stop by 8 pm.. & I regretfully left for home...(still raining) again I kept my speed below 35 mph on my almost bald Drag Radials...its now 11 pm & I just got home...I can't understand why NO ONE ELSE SHOWED UP ???

I'd like to tell you the rest of the story. but I HAVE TO GET ANOTHER BOTTLE OF RED

I'll be at the "Summer Nationals next Fri. Sat. & Sun. then plan on the next CC June 8th...

Wait, you went to the MAIN GATE today?!
Noooo, they were using the other entrance today (due to flooding), the one by the office and they crossed us over the top of the track and in past the time slip booth. Was a great day of racing, we got almost all of the classes in today too! I can't believe you were right there and still missed the whole damn thing John.
