Hate to start a new thread for this but anything I had pix in is long gone LOL. Anyway it's just barely drivable right now & have made a couple local Cruise-Ins but haven't made it to the track...yet.
Thanks man! It has been a racecar for many years. Was originally a IHRA Modified car & later ran Super Gas/Rod. Haven't weighed it yet but it's light.
How's the S/G car going?
It's serving bracket duty for the time being. I ended up hurting the motor in my Mustang a few weeks ago, so we ripped out all of the electronics in the T Bird and I've been footbraking it ever since.
Div. 1 bracket finals are this week and once that's over, I hope to get at least one S/G race in.

That vette looks like it's a blast to drive
It's been a lot of fun so far. Best of luck to you at the Bracket Finals.
L-79 it's stock front end stuff. It looks nice but it's gonna have to be raised some. The lower a-arms are very close to the frame. That's the way it was when I got it & I just haven't changed it yet. May try to look into a set of dropped spindles to keep it low but give it down travel.
Got a chance to weigh it & it's only 2180# running with a iron head 355" motor & 'Glide...less driver. A set of aluminum heads would put it @ about 2130. I couldn't believe it was that light with a stock front suspension except for a R&P steering & Willwood front brakes!

I think you must have forgotten to get all four tires on the scale
Dam that thing is light!! My 80 came in at 2750 and I thought that was light. I hope my 66 comes in under 2900.

She sure is light...exactly 100# lighter than my T-Bird. Although the iron head BBF weighs a bit more than your SBC.

I couldn't believe it either so I split weighed it also...1120 on the front & 1060 rear. I knew it was light the first time I hauled it.
